Darkness, Reign Over Me

Eyes saddened by the decay of hope
The fire of life is but dying embers
A derelic man without fortitude
A broken being in need of rejuvenation.

A storm looms upon my horizon
Black foerboding clouds
Rolling--churning--advancing
A soul ripe for the violation.

DARKNESS, reign over me... consume me.

Huddled in my corner, a depredation of the spirit
Then it hovers above, dismal and transfixed
Throws of shadows become me
The light of decency fades to oblivion.

I rise up within the black reign
An emptiness has overcome the guilt
The havoc within my soul subsides
I am forsaken--I am barren--I am hollow!

DARKNESS, reign over me... consume me.

Innocence spied, I come for thee
Fear me! For I am a gathering plague
The silence whispers my name, you come
Brutality speaks of innocence taken!

I write the night in blood for you
shades of homicide--black to crimson
You lay before me, listless staring eyes
A flowing pool of blood beneath you!

DARKNESS, reign over me... consume me.

I am the light undone, the lesser of man
Consumed by darkness, I am evil absolute!
