DEX: ok, I have a secret, and it's not at all a small secret. I'm a werewolf. It's in my bloodline. I've been one for as long as I can remember. I have a pack and all( which includes my mom, dad, sister, Ben, Jess and also some locals). But with the extra strength and agility of being a werewolf also came with having a mate. A mate is someone who you are destined to be with, that you will literally die with out. You will become nothing, no life, no soul, no thoughts if you are not near your mate. And I have found my mate. Fern. The real reason why I ran away yesterday was because when I found her all I wanted to do is kiss her soft, perfect pink lips with her lip gloss that smells like strawberries (yes, I could smell it on her in the cafeteria). I had heard stories of mates being human but it only happened like every 100 years. So when I saw her in the cafeteria earlier i freaked. I ran away on foot because i was scared. My wolf was going crazy, I could feel him inside me, wanting me to transform into my wolf and go back to my mate. But I was to scared. So today when I found out that my little sister was going to be training (after looking through her Facebook and Instagram page for an hour at home) with her I thought it would be perfect to go and apologize. But when I saw her I got angry at myself for earlier and therefor in a grumpy mood. And when I told her that Jess was leaving for a family trip, it was a lie. But if I tell Jess that it is a mate thing I know she will leave town for a couple of days, she's always dreaming about what her mate will be like.

When I step through the door to my home ,with a happy Lauren skipping infront of me I yell out to mom letting her know we are home.

"We are in here honey!" She yells back.

I walk over to find them sitting at the table looking very serious.

"What's up?" I ask confused for their serious faces that are normally playful faces.

"We need to talk." Says my father.

All of a sudden Lauren runs into the dining room yelling about her horse lesson. "-it was awsome! His name is Tucker and-" but is cut off short by father saying " yes Lauren,but can we talk about this later? How about you go upstairs and take a shower to clean off that horse smell?" He says with a tired voice.

Now I know something is wrong, mom and dad love to hear everything Lauren says.

"Ok" she replies sadly.

Once she leaves the room I continue my earlier question. "What's up?"

"Sit down" says my father.

"Okay...." I reply cautiously while sitting down. Does he know about my mate? Is he mad? Why would he be mad? Because she's human?

"Our borders are being threatened by the Zel pack from the east. Because of this I want you to do two things." He says taking me by surprise.

"Ok, matters what they are." I say worried.

Taking a deep breath then letting it out slowly my dad replies "One: I want you to cut off connections with all of your human friends, they can be used against you. Two: I want you to become the second Alpha, someone who will help me, learn from me, and in a couple of years be the Alpha."

"What?! I told you, I don't want to be the Alpha! And I can't cut off connections with my human friends! They're my friends!" I yell back at this terrible idea.

"Yes, I know you don't want to become Alpha but we need a back-up and I need a helper if we are going to beat the Zel pack. And it will be for their own good, if the Zel find out that you have any feelings at all for them, those humans Will get hurt."

I knew he was right about the humans but I had just found my mate, I couldn't leave her! And I defiantly didn't want to become Alpha, there was plenty other boy werewolf's in our pack who would love to become the Alpha.
