Pairing: JiKook
"Jesus Christ." Jungkook wheezes, finally reaching the third floor. He stops briefly to greet the couple canoodling outside his classroom with a gentle nod before he opens the door to his classroom only to be greeted by biting cold air and a chorus of high-pitched "Kookie!!!"s.
"Chill. Im gonna-" He trails off, still breathless from the 36-step walk up to his classroom. Why the fuck did he need this much books anyway? "I'm gonna just rest for a bit." He takes off his heavy as fuck backpack, throwing it on his chair with a loud thud. He tries not to think of what might have broke in there.
"Fuck, I forgot my jacket." he mutters under his breath and looks around the room to find someone with a jacket that he can borrow. All he finds are ones that are either to big to be actually able to move around and do things with, or too small to provide even an ounce of warmth.
"Why is it so cold here all the time, anyway?" He says as he approaches his group of friends, hands rubbing up and down his arms to provide much needed warmth.
"Because you always forget your jacket, dumbass." the tall, lanky one says. He bites off the equally-insulting comeback at the tip of his tongue, remembering that the guy was older than him. "I wouldn't be this cold if you were to lend me that jacket, Seokjin." He pinches the sleeve of the jacket as if to emphasize his point. "What, and let myself freeze to death? No thank you." Seokjin's chuckles, flicking Jungkook's forehead.
The retort Jungkook could've said gets cut off when he hears Taehyung say, "Owp, owp, owp. Watch out, prince charming's here." And Jungkook's head turns around so fast he's afraid he might have whiplash. Said guy would be hard to miss, really, with that mop of shocking orange hair he has. A warm rush of familiarity spreads through Jungkook, and a smile makes its way on his face.
He scans the guy from head to toe, like he always does every morning when Jimin arrives. Bingo. "Jimin!" He shouts, eyes following the teen as he walks to his chair at the back of the classroom. An irritated "What do you want?" was heard, and Jungkook chuckles to himself, knowing his ex-best friend too well to even believe that he meant the tone.
"Jacket pleeeeaaseee" he drags out in a sickeningly sweet tone. Jimin rakes his eyes up and down Jungkook's body, scowl never leaving. "I'm cold too, you ass." he mutters before burying his head in his arms on the table. "But I'm cold...er?" Jungkook reasons "Yes. Colder. I'm colder." he says again, never once ceasing the continuous punches to Jimin's shoulder.
Jimin's head whips up, and he catches Jungkook's fist, stopping it from making anymore contact with his already sore shoulder. "I said I'm cold too." he repeats, but Jungkook could vaguely see a hint of a smile on the older's face.
Jungkook knew that of course, his teasing had boundaries as well, especially now that they weren't exactly the best of friends. He didn't know what happened. He had sent a little "Morning Jimin ≧∇≦" on the day they had "broke it off", only to get a short, brief "Hi" in response. The younger questioned Jimin, once again receiving a short "I've changed." as a reply. He didn't get anymore replies after that.
He was devastated. He had lost his best friend. Jimin would constantly make a show of avoiding him at school and seenzoning him. Then, 11th grade came. Jungkook had never been happier, knowing Jimin would be his classmate. It was, of course, awkward at first, but they eventually surpassed the "acquaintance" level and onto the "kinda-good-friends-who-were-best-friends-before" level.
And here Jungkook was, standing beside Jimin, a pout on his lips. "Please, Jiminie?" He whined, accompanying it with his signature aegyo. He knew Jimin always fell for it (or, well, before, at least.) When the older didn't so much as budge, he retreated back to his seat, shivering.
He didn't realize he had fallen asleep, waking up unusually warm. He looks up, realizing there was some sort of blanket draped over him. He removed it from his back, examining it. It looked familiar, a green Varsity jacket. Oh, he realizes.
His eyes scan the room, looking for a certain orange-haired lad. He spots him near the air conditioner, backpack over his head, acting as a makeshift hood. The lad was shivering too, Jungkook noticed. He takes another good look at the jacket in his hands, savoring the warm feeling it gave.
Thank you, Jimin.
