Coincidental ( Finn and Becky )

Trying to remember (Chapter 4)

Finn's POV:

While his three friends were bending forwards and back in complete joy, Finn could't help but wonder how the duo had displayed their ... friendliness. None of them had been awake before him and Becky, so that was out. The only reasonable explanation was ... that something had happened at nighttime. Yet he knew honest to himself that they hadn't ... copulated. ,,Jeez, how pompous", he thought to himself.

As Finn had this revelation, two things became clear to him. Firstly, he had to find out how many people knew and stop them from spreading it. Secondly, him and Becky were going to have a nice long sit-down the next time they met.

,,Oh Rebecca, there is going to be some explaining to be done", Finn said, slowly straightening himself to face his eager companions.

When Finn looked up at his coworkers, he said: ,,Get those childish grins of your faces, they won't make me explain any quicker, now will they?"

Sami, Neville and Kevin tried to oblige, but through the whole conversation, once in a while a sly smile would appear on their faces.

,,Now look", Finn started. ,,Firstly, to answer your question, I did not, I repeat I did not sleep with Rebecca, whatever you think you saw." He said this with poison in his voice.

,,Woah, settle down there Clinton, we believe you", Kevin quickly answered, knowing Finn, and how enraged he could become, the longest. ,,We just, you know, want to know."

,,What I want to know", Finn countered, slowly relaxing, ,,is how many people also have this knowledge, and how you found out about it anyways."

,,Okay, let's see", Neville said, cutting in. ,,There's the three of us", he said, gesturing while he spoke. ,,Then you have Pam, Leah, Mercedes, Ashley and, well, the two of you", he finished.

,,Plus Eric", Finn added. ,,So with him and Leah, Bill probably also knows. So, all in all, that's eleven people,which is just great. Oh, and you didn't answer my second question."

,,Well, our memories aren't that great either, but we'll tell you all the little things we know.", Kevin said, the other two agreeing.

,,Shoot away", Finn allowed.

,,Ok", Kevin began. ,,Well it all started when the fireworks went off for midnight. All the guys we knew, and many we didn't now, were all gazing into the sky. So, Rami, Ben and I were all standing to the side, when just before the clock struck twelve, Ben saw Becky pulling you in and you putting your arm around her."

,,Yep, that's where my memories end", Finn agreed, remembering the feeling he had deep inside of him at that moment. He didn't want anyone to notice this, so he asked; ,,Then what happened?"

,,Sorry, at that time I had already gone to the quieter lounge room to call my son to wish him goodnight. I wasn't with you until much later."

,,Hang on", Finn said. ,,I remember you passed out on the opposite couch when I woke up, you must have been with me then."

,,Ah, but you see", Kevin countered. ,,Contrary to you, I was legitimately asleep, as I had helped Paul clean up a little and went to sleep in the later morning. I was literally stumbling because of sleep deprivation, so I just sat down in the room, which is where I saw you."

,,Great, so that's his side of the story", Finn concluded. ,,Now, on to the two of you, I'm positive you'll be able to answer some more questions."

,,Of course", Neville started. ,,So, it turns out only I had seen you, but I didn't think much of it. Nothing special, I thought, they know each other longer than anyone, they're like this all the time. Anyway, for about five minutes, the whole group stood there, looking at the display."

,,And that", Sami cut in, ,,was where the fun really started, 'cause that was when everyone went wild. Seriously, it was like spring break all over again. Chicks were screaming, the bartender was skinny-dipping with Tyler and his delightful flock, and Ben here really had to restrain himself not to go completely bonkers, as I was."

,,Yeah, yeah, go harping on about your "glorious" single life, I'm happy with being in a serious relationship", Neville jokingly grumbled, while Kevin chuckled.

,,Anyway Rami, go on", Finn quickly said, wanting an answer.

,,Sure, sure", he continued. ,, Well at that moment, Ben also had to call his wife to wish her a happy new year, so he excused himself and that's all I remember seeing of him until the next morning. Just at that moment, I noticed how Becky and you were sitting together, and she seemed to have challenged you to shots. I found it a little weird only the two of you were participating, but I just shrugged it off as the behavior of two Irish guys, grabbed a can of beer and joined the bunch of screaming people in the fun."

,,A while later, I don't remember when as I was already pretty drunk, someone called a group of us inside, I think it was Leah, so we all followed suit."

,,Wait", Finn questioned. ,,The whole party moved inside?"

,,Oh no", Sami responded.,,As far as I can remember it was a small group, I think consisting of Ashley, Pam, Mercedes, Leah and Bill, Eric, me and finally you and Becky, arm in arm."

,,Calm down, you weren't making out or anything romantic", Sami cleared up, seeing Finn's eyes immediately widen. ,,You were supporting each others weight as you were more lurching than walking. Anyway, we entered the house and... that's all I'm able to remember", he finished, shrugging his shoulders.

,,Nothing else?", Finn wondered a bit disappointed at the lack of content.

,,Sorry friend, that's all I have", Sami apologized. ,,We all want to help, it just wasn't the clearest night for us either, you know", he explained, the other two agreeing.

,,Well, it'll have to do for now", Finn said, seeing their point.

So, for the rest of lunch, they spoke about how things were going on in the WWE, and if Sami and Finn thought they would get promoted to the main shows anytime soon. The whole time Finn was only listening with one ear, trying his dearest to remember anything of those early morning hours. Alas, he tried to no avail.

When they all said their goodbye's and left, Sami asked if he could ride with Finn. He agreed, and as they were pulling out of the parking lot, Sami asked; ,,Hey, you sure there's nothing going on between her and you, if you don't mind me asking?"

,, She's like a sister to me, we just know each other well. I'd never even think romantically about her", Finn responded. But just as he said this, the feeling from New Year's came back to him.
