In Storybrooke:

Margaret woke up in a house quite different from the queen's castle. She ran downstairs and found a diner. She asked Granny, who was in the diner behind the counter she was.

"Why you're in Granny's Diner," Granny said. "Don't you remember? I rented you a room just the other day."

"Oh, right. Sorry. I forgot," Margaret replied.

"That's alright," Granny said.

Just then a young woman in short shorts and heavy red makeup went up to Granny and gave her an order of food. Margaret barely recognized her, but she knew it was little red riding hood. Granny said, "Thank you, Red." to her and then she went to take some more orders.

Margaret looked around the Diner and she recognized many people. Then she looked over to a booth near a window and saw Regina. Quickly, she walked over to her. She sat down, directly across from her.

"I remember," Margaret said.

"Yes, I told you that you would," Regina replied, not looking up from her book she was reading.

"Yeah, but you aren't exactly someone who everyone trusts," Margaret told Regina.

"True," Regina replied looking up from her book. "I wanted to keep this promise though." Regina knew she could never deceive or lie to her daughter.

"Why?" Margaret asked.

"Well, I realized I need help running this town and you have always been my help from the start," Regina said.

"Running the town? Where are we?" Margaret asked.

"I call this place Storybrooke and of this town, I'm mayor. You, Goldilocks, are my assistant," Regina told Margaret.

"Thank you," Margaret said after a while.

"For what?" Regina asked.

"For letting me remember," Margaret stated.

All Regina did was smile and went back to reading her book. A couple of seconds passed by until Margaret spoke up and said, "Margaret."

"Excuse Me?" Regina asked.

"My name is Margaret. Not Goldilocks."

"Well, welcome to Storybrooke Margaret."

Margaret eventually gave the book to Mary Margaret, aka Snow White. That was about 19 years after the curse was released and after Regina got an adopted son, Henry.

The whole thing was planned out: Mary Margaret would give the book to Henry and seeing how Henry believed the stories in the book and was the son of the Savior, he'd try to find his birth mother and bring her home.

When that yellow buggy finally rolled into town, Margaret knew her plan worked. Then that night, seeing as in this time, time stood still, all the clocks began to move. Every day she'd go past the main clock tower and smile because the Savior was one step closer in breaking the curse.

The only reason Margaret wanted to break the curse is because she knew what would happen. She knew everything about time; from start to finish. She knew that she needed to start Regina on her path to being good again. If breaking the curse and have everything come crashing down for her mother, so be it. One day she'll be thankful for this and one day she'll have more family than she'll know what to do with. Maybe then, Margaret can see her mother truly happy.
