The next morning, Castiel woke up to the smell of burnt bacon. He sat up on the couch, not knowing where he was. He turned to the sound of water running and saw a man who was wearing plaid pants and a black t-shit. The man turned around and saw him.
"Hello stranger!" Another man rolled his eyes "Dean you're going to scare him".
Dean scoffed "Shut up, Sammy. I know how to socialize"
"Sure you do" Sam said sarcastically.
Dean walked up to the man on the couch and waved in front of his face. The man frowned at Dean, who laughed nervously.
"Castiel." The man said looking at Sam and Dean.
"Excuse me?" Dean said, confused
"My name. It's Castiel" He said, standing up and looking around the room.
"Ohh. Okay. Interesting name" Dean said, quirking a small smile.
"Why am I here" asked Castiel, watching Sam struggle to cook the bacon.
"Well you uh," Dean turned to look at Sam then set his focus back on Castiel "You passed out on the side of the road. And your arm was bleeding." Castiel looked at his arm, and noticed that the bleeding had stopped "Sammy treated it for you" Castiel smiled "Thank you".
Dean and Castiel stared at each other for a while, until the silence was broke from Sam's ringing phone. "Uh, sorry. I have to take this" Sam took out his phone and went outside to talk.
"So, Casti- Can I call you Cas? If you don't mind" Castiel nodded "So, Cas. Do you know where your headed to?" He asked. Cas was silent. Where am I going? He thought to himself. "I..I don't know" Dean raised an eyebrow at him and folded his arms. "You don't know where to go?" Cas shook his head. Dean smiled at him "You can stay here for a while. You know, until you decide where you want to go." Dean suggested. Cas took the suggestion and smiled, thankfully.
Sam came back, walking over to Dean and taking him to the side.
"We have a case" Sam said, glancing over to Cas, who was analyzing the TV remote.
"Awesome. Where?" Asked Dean.
"In Ohio..." Dean shook his head and stepped back a little.
"Sammy. We can't just leave him here. You go, I'll stay" he said.
"You sure?" Sam asked. Dean nodded in response. "Okay. I'll head out now to get a head start on the case"
"Ok, Sam." The younger Winchester walked out the door. Dean could hear the engine start up and his brother driving away.
Dean turned to Cas, who was pressing buttons on the remote. He cleared his throat, causing Cas' attention to focus on him. He went and sat next to Castiel, who awkwardly smiled.
They didn't know what to talk about. It was like one of those moments where in a show, a person says a really crappy joke and the sound of crickets was then heard. Dean thought of a topic for them to talk about "Did you see the comets yesterday night?" He asked. Cas twisted his tie in between his fingers, it was a habit he had. Whenever he got nervous, twisted his tie. And now he was nervous. A very attractive man was talking to him and he had no words. "Those weren't comets, Dean." He said turning to Dean, who had all his attention on him. "What were they then?" He asked, turning him body completely, to Castiel's direction.
"Those were falling angels." He said.
