Castiel walked down the cold, dark alley. The night was silent, and the only thing that was heard was of the leaves rustling in the wind. He was trapped in his thoughts, not knowing how to get out.

Dean Winchester? How could thi-

His thoughts were interrupted by a loud crash coming from behind him. Castiel turned around, startled, to the origin of the sound. The crash was heard again. He slowly started to walk towards the noise. Once he got close to the boxes, which was the place where the crash was coming from, he peeked over a small box.

"Meow"

Cas jumped and ran to hide behind one of the large boxes. He peeked over the box, to make sure that the creature that had scared him wasn't there. And it wasn't. Cas sighed with relief until he looked over to his side and saw the creature leaning against his leg. He shrieked and jumped away. The creature trotted over to the terrified man and tilted its head. Cas knelt down next to it "Ohh" he said smiling a little "You're those animals that people keep as a companion. What are you called?" He thought for a moment then pointed his finger at the animal, causing it to duck its head. "You're a cat" he patted its head while smiling. "Did you know that there was actually a man named Dean Winchester?" the cat purred and Cas assumed it was a response to his question "Me neither. I just thought he was a story.." He sighed and continued stroking the cat's fur with his hand.

After a while of "talking" to his furry companion, he got up. Castiel faintly smiled at the cat and waved good-bye. The cat wrapped its tail around Cas' leg, purring. He turned away and started to walk towards the end of the alley.

"Dean Winchester..." he mumbled. He couldn't get him off his mind. Dean just seemed so nice..Maybe the angels were just messing with him? Plus, it was only gossip..it couldn't be true..

Right..? Right??

Cas stood in place and sighed. Suddenly, he heard a scream coming from the alley next to him. He ran to the screaming and leaned against a wall to stay hidden.

"Tell me where he is!" a man yelled.

"I-I don't know who you're talking about!" the woman cried.

Cas looked at the two from the corner of his eye and recognized the man. Damn it...

"Castiel?! Where. Is. He?!" the man took out his blade and pressed it against the woman's throat.

"W-What?" the woman began to cry "I-I...Please! I don't know who this Castiel is! J-Just pl-" before she could finish her sentence, the man slit her throat, watching blood pour from her body as she sank to the ground.

Cas could hear the gurgling of blood and had a disgusted expression. He heard the man walk away from the woman and towards his direction. The ex-angel quickly ran away, hoping the man didn't see or hear him.

A few minutes later of running, Castiel stopped near a candle shop. He breathed heavily, looking around to make sure the man wasn't in his area. Thank God he wasn't. He sat down on a bench and looked up at the sky. It was a clear night. No stars or clouds were to be seen. The sound of the breeze kept Cas calm. He could see couples walking down the sidewalk, or just busy people rushing and dropping their files on the sidewalk, forgetting to pick them up. Cas smiled at the people with sad eyes.
What do I do...?
