I crash through the front door with Lexi in tow- Joe supporting the other side, I'm exhausted, parties are effort. Lexi ran off part way through the party and eventually I found her- lying on a table with people taking shots off her and Joe trying to get her to leave. Joe is such a nice boyfriend and Lexi really does deserve him- after all she's been through, she is such an amazing person.
"It's ok Riles, I'll carry her"
"If you are sure"
"Yeah, go find your mom"
"Okay" I beam at him

I pause and pull of my heels before resuming my padding to the study, I quickly knock and poke my head around the door and see my mom bent over  her work, fast asleep with light snores. I smile and dart out of the room before swiftly returning with a blanket and pillow from the cabinet, I lift her head up and pop a pillow underneath before draping a pillow over her body. I grab a sticky note and write: Hey Mom, got in late last night, don't over work! Lexi and Joe are here- Lex got a bit drunk so she's recovering here so she doesn't have to face the evil parents I cap the pen after drawing a devil.

I pull back the covers of my bed and fall face first into the cushy warmth that I hate to leave. Before I fall asleep I grab my phone and set an early alarm to grab Advil for Lexi and to help clean up Joe's car- he offered to take me home so my mom didn't have to and I graciously accepted knowing Joe hadn't been drinking.
