Eli had
been
having
nightmares,
ever
since she
met
Thales.
Nightmares
about
Flynn,
Nightmares
about her
paintings
coming
alive
and eating
her
in the
night.
But the most recent, was the most scary.
Eli was driving,
and for
some reason it
was raining.
And then,
out of no where,
Flynn appeared.
And Eli ran
her down.
And then her Mother.
And then her Father.
And then Thales.
And she just
kept running
all of these
people down,
all of these
people that she
loved.
And she
managed
to do it
all to the
Arctic Monkeys
"DayDream."
Pretty fitting, right?
And all
Eli could
do was
scream.
Her screaming
woke up
her family.
Her older
brother,
Quentin,
had to
shake her
awake.
"E, you idiot! Quit screaming and wake up!"
Eli woke up,
covered in sweat.
Her heart was racing.
And then,
if the
sweating
and
panting
wasn't enough,
the tears came.
Gross,
salty tears.
And all Eli
wanted to do
was curl
up into a
ball,
because she
hated emotion.
She hated telling
her family anything.
