act two; three.

Around 12pm,

Eli took a walk,

down the street,

and watched as the mysterious woman,

from yesterday,

picked up
flowers
that
had
been
crumpled
and
thrown
onto the
sidewalk.

"What are you doing?"

She called across the street.

"Well,
you see,
I have this theory.
That if you
bring people flowers,
when you
first
meet them,
you will always
be
together."

Eli just crossed the street,

and sighed.

Tulips.

They just had to be tulips.

Flynn's favourite goddamn flower.

"It's real sweet,
stranger.
But I
cannot
accept them."

"Why
ever not?"

"Remember?
Dead girlfriend?"

"Was
this her
favourite
flower?"

Eli just simply nodded,

And a few
tears slid
down her
cheeks.

"I'm Thales,
just so
you
know."

"Isn't
that a
philosopher?"

The red,
curly haired woman
rolled her eyes,
and sighed.
Very deeply.

"And that,
is exactly
why
I go
by Ty."

"Why?"

"Because I am
not going
to be
some great
philosopher. I will never
ever
write poetry,
or tell
great stories.
I will never
be happy,
or know
what is going
to happen
in the future,
let alone
predict what
might happen.
I absolutely
refuse to be
one of those
people
who can just
make up
things out
of thin air."

"Makes sense,
but I am
still going
to call you
Thales.
I like that
name."

Ty just rolled her eyes again.

Eli liked that about her.

She was just honest.

And she
didn't care what
other people
thought.
She said exactly
what she wanted,
when she
wanted too. And
that was that.

"I think you
and I could
be in love,
If you believe
in yourself
you can free
your soul.
My heart is
breaking in two,
I don't know what to do."

"Is that a
philosopher
thing?
Or like,
Shakespeare?"

"Actually it's FoxyGen."

"Who?"

"FoxyGen."

"Is that a stripper?"

Thales snorted,
as if she
was trying
to laugh
but her
demeanour
wouldn't
allow it.

"It's a singer.
And since you
are into
good music,
you should
check out
her song,
"Shuggie."
It's quite interesting."

"Okay."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."
