You swallowed thickly, those green orbs staring into yours. You jaw hanging agape, as you took in the sight in front of you. He stood there like a lost puppy, his smile slightly showing on the side. Your breath heavies hoping it wasn't a dream. Dean was standing right in front of you, and your body was frozen in place. Not able to move even an inch, just stuck.
"I know" he said quietly "I can't believe it either sweetheart" and that's when you knew it was him. The single nick name that laced your day bright.
Your throat was sore from keeping the tears back making your voice horse "D-Dean?" you breathed out harshly "Is that-that really you" you reached out a hand to his jaw running your thumb across the scruff on his jaw line.
He guided his hand to yours "Yeah, it's me" his voice laced with joy "I don't know how, but here I am" his smile, you couldn't deny it. This was Dean Winchester, your best friend, the one who loved you no matter what. Who had been there through thick and thin even though sometimes he wasn't always exactly there.
You took a couple more steps and hugged him, tears falling faster staining his black t-shirt wet. He held you tight, you never wanted to let go. It felt like forever to Dean, He missed you more than he could put into words. It was the best thing to him to finally get to see you, to touch you, to feel his heart racing, not being punctured in hell. He wanted to kiss you, to tell you all what that letter was about, yet he was content for now. He knew you needed time, hell, he didn't even know if you were with Sam but his feelings were set aside again for that door. Dean just kept you close to him.
"Oh god, How I missed you Dean" you sniffed into his shirt.
"I know, I know" He rubbed your back. It felt nice, everything felt right but you had to look up to see your father Bobby.
"Well I know ya'll haven't seen each other in a while, but we gotta go. I found Sam" Bobby said sternly, your eyes widen. They found Sam! You were sure he would be long gone by now.
"Wait, you found Sam" you voice a bit cheerful to cover up the dishonest disgust you had with your self. You felt like you needed to follow Dean's letter before he went to hell, but you couldn't manage all the feelings and elephant weight to carry. Though Dean's mind was almost on the same track, his eyes widened , but only because you didn't know where he was to begin with.

The ride was long to that motel room Sam had been staying in and a long walk up. When you walked in Sam was talking, but not to a man. It was more of feminine voice type. Your heart dropped though a possibility it could be hunter.
Bobby knocked at door softly and it opened up to be Sam, he looked nice in the grey shirt and the pants he was wearing but not so much the black haired girl in her underwear. Your rage peered in your mind, hands shaking behind your back, lips pursed showing the anger basically radiating on you.
"He'ya Sammy, It's me" Sam was not having it he grabbed Dean by the shoulders trying to shove the knife Ruby gave to him, into Deans chest but Bobby wasn't having it. He was yelping telling Sam it was really him, after a couple times Sam calmed down and scanned his face over. He then hugged Dean, his heart breaking yet being put together halfway.
"So are you two like together" you cocked your head toward the girl, you swear her voice sent shocks of anger down your spine.
"No, no this, this is my brother Dean" Sam said letting go of Dean. She nodded and got her stuff saying goodbye to Sam. You took a small breath excusing Dean and Sam, but when you turned around the tears that had settled started to fall. Sam, the boy you had liked for so long was with hooking up all around and there was nothing to do about it. You weren't going to sit around and wait for him to realize what the hell you were feeling. You felt the need to let go of relationships at the most. You certainty did not want to hook up at bars either, you had no clue how Dean did that previously.
After you turned the corner before the stairs, you slid against the wall, letting out a shaky breath. The tears wilting faster than expected, keeping your tears silent. It was like your heart was breaking because of Sam but rejoicing because of Dean. It was such a confusing cycle and you didn't know where it began. Fighting this battle in your head was hard but it was worse for the one in your heart. You started thinking about your relationship with Dean after his ascend to hell. How strong it was compared to Sam's. Yes felt horrible, pin balling between boys but they were always there for you, yes but you never imagined having feelings for them and certainly not at the same time.
After a while you just stared blankly at the wall in front of you till a clunk of boots clammed down the hall. You wiped your tears quickly and looked up to see Dean looking over you but soon matching up to your height as he bent down. "Hey y/n, what's wrong?" he asked quizzically. He eyes matched the worry they did before he went to hell. How he had felt when he had to face his death.
Dean was all mixed in emotion. He felt numb and dead inside yet he never felt so alive. He felt angry at Sam and at himself though he felt happy to see you and Bobby.
All he could do now, was like he always did. Keep his mouth shut and comfort you til' you felt better. So he had bent down and took a seat next to you once more like nothing else mattered. That moment he didn't want to ruin, and didn't even want to try bring up his feeling because of the woman you saw. He could see the fire in your eyes as your lip pursed at her earlier.
Dean basically knew you inside out. He knew what you did when you were angry, he knew you'd wait till the end of the day to curl up and let the tears fall at night, and how when you were excited you'd basically scream though your mouth was shut. He always though it was adorable the way you'd blush when he'd call you sweetheart. Dean all kept this to him self, though it wasn't a weight. It was like a little feather that barley waves around his shoulders. It was a nice feeling.
You looked up at Dean while he began to rub your back. You felt all warm inside as if you were the Grinch on the cold old mountain and the sun had finally came out. Dean was you sun, and Sam right now would be the harsh wind. It hurt saying that after so long, of getting along but it was what it was.
After a while you saw Bobby and Sam start to walk down the hall, so you and Dean stood up and began to walk with them though not once staring at Sam. Anger boiling through your veins and words tempted your mouth but you kept your best face on for all them even though Dean saw right past you.
"So there are group of Demons two towns over, if you all want to go find them?" Sam question Dean which right up for it. Dean probably wanted revenge and you knew it so you didn't question his enthusiasm. You understood somewhat, just like you understood his relationship with John in the beginning of all these charades.
"That's cool" you mumbled under your breath though Sam questioned what you had said "I said that cool" you stated, your voice as stern as it could be with out giving any angered tones. Or at least tried to. He pulled you over down the hall, and excused you two for a moment.
"Look, I know I didn't call but there was nothing I could do for Dean" Sam looked you in the eyes, his face claiming a frown.
"Well apparently you could bang some chick" your voice low, as your eye brows furry once again at Sam. You notice his eyes become soft and dopey as he stares down at his feet.
"I-I what do you mean" He looks back up at you.
"I mean Sam that I liked you for years, for years!" You yelped "But instead of trying to find me after your demons wouldn't deal, you bang some girl in a shady motel room. All I'm trying to say Sam is that. This doesn't seem like you" You began your walk out of the hall way and out the door to find Bobby and Dean already inside the car/truck ready to go. You knew Sam would be riding with Dean so you got inside the truck with Bobby and never once looked at Impala the ride over.
