Dreaming Alone (Shinah x Shy! reader)

  You walk down the hall and make your way to your locker with your best friend, Shinah. Considering Shinah was one of the most timid people you had met, it took a bit of effort for him to become comfortable around you. You didn't regret it though, it was easily one of the best decisions you made, considering the clumsy way you too had met.

~FlashBack~

You ran to your locker and quickly gathered the things you needed. You had gotten held up in your last period, causing you to be in a rush to your next class. Not exactly feeling like embarrassing yourself today by being late. You grab all the books you need and swiftly turn the corner to make your way to biology. As you were speeding, you ran into a boy with a mask, blue hair, and a squirrel on his shoulder.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" You stuttered and started to pick up your books. You felt a hand slightly touch yours as the books were taken from your hand. You look up to see the boy standing with the books in his arms and a hand stretched out to you. You hesitated for a moment, but took hold of his hand as he pulled you up. A moment of silence ensued between you two before you awkwardly coughed, hoping to break the tension.

"Um...Hi. I'm (F/n). What's your name?"

"..Shinah. My name is Shinah." He responded shyly.

"Shinah...that's a pretty name. Thanks for the help, I can take the books now." You said, gently grabbing the books from his hand.

"What's your next class?"

"......Biology" He spoke up.

"Really? I'm in that class too, are you new?" You questioned, having never seen him in class before.

"Ah..yes. I moved.." He quietly answered, though you couldn't see his expression through the mask.

"Oh! In that case, let me walk you there! You don't know where it is right? I'll help you" You offered.

He nodded, legs picking up as he followed you to class.

(Your Pov)

I am so glad I ended up bumping into him. Who knew it would end up being one of the best things I've ever done? I glance up at Shinah, who is currently trying to feed his little fuzzy friend. He is so cute. We walked up to my locker, while I had been mindlessly telling him a story about the class before. Carefully bringing out the necessary books, I balanced their weight in my arms, leaning over to shut the locker. Before I could, Shinah had shut the locker for me, the weight of the books becoming lighter as he lifted one up to carry.

"Thanks, Shinah. That means alot." I said. I've wondered how he was able to carry those books even though he looks so skinny.

".....I'm glad I could help you (F/n)" He said. You blushed at what he said. I loved how cute and innocent he always was. I walked into class and he carefully set your things in front of me, and our hands touched ever so lightly. You smiled at him, and he slightly smiled back.

Class started and I took my seat next to Shi-nah. After all this time I've spent with him, I started to develop feelings about him, up to the point where I have dreams about him every night, and they're always so sweet. I just wish they were real. But, he probably will never return my feelings, so why bother. It could ruin our friendship, and I don't want that.

(Shinah Pov)

I look over to see (F/n) smiling at me. I blush and sit down in my seat next to her. Overtime, I developed feelings for (F/n). She was the only one in the school who understood me. The only one that wanted to be my friend. I just...really want to be more than friends. Why wouldn't anyone want her. She's beautiful, funny, kind, sweet, and just so amazing. I glance at her before sitting down in my assigned seat. While the teacher isn't looking, she quietly grabs Ao and plays with him under her desk. I've had so many dreams about her and I, where we date, having fun, or married even. I want to share these dreams with her, but she might not return my feelings, and I don't want to risk ruining my friendship with her. She's the only person in this school that understands me, and I don't want to ruin that.
