Chapter 6

Harrys pov~  

There she was. I felt my whole body go numb, unable to move. My mouth went completely dry, enabling me to speak. My chest begun to to hurt. As she stared into my eyes I felt like my old happy self again, like the only people in the world was me and Charlie. Memories flooded my brain; the first time I saw her, the first time we went on a date, our first kiss. "Hello my name is Ted" a guy from behind her stated. I shift my gaze to this stranger. He looked slightly older than me, abit taller, and was an okay looking guy. I shook the mans hand as my eyes fell back to Charlie, with her gaze set on the ground. Set aside all the emotions, Charlie looked amazing. Slightly different from the last time I saw her but as beautiful as ever. I notice that her hair seems a tad longer and lighter in color. She also has much tanner skin then before that make her eyes stand out. As I examine her some what new appearance I notice something. As my eyes travel down her small tan arms and on to her hands I see a quick glance of a shiny ring before she quickly moves her hands behind her back. "Babe are you going to introduce me" Emily says from behind me. Damn was Emily annoying. I didn't even want to take her here but simon insisted. All of the boys looked at me with sorrowful eyes. I nodded my head if approval for them to shake her hand. I heard them say "good to see you Charlie" and "it's been a while". She stops dead in her tracks as she faces me. Us both staring deep into each others eyes. "Hi I'm Emily. Harrys girlfriend." Emily says breaking the silence. I stare at Charlie with sorry eyes as her smily dropped in to a frown. I desperately longed to hear her voice. "Charlie" she says back with such softness in her voice. As she goes to shake Emily's hand that's when I see it again. A ring. But not just any ring, it was an engagement ring. Charlie was engaged. "Charlie? Engaged? Please no" I thought to myself. "Hello Harry. Have you met my wife Charlie yet" Ted says as he wraps his arms around Charlie's waist. I felt my heart sink down to my stomach. Shattering in to a million little pieces. Everything collapsed inside me. The rope that held my world had snapped causing everything to come crashing down. Tears forcing To stream down my face, but I put everything on me not to brake down right there. I try to reply to teds question but my mouth goes dry and no words come out. I slowly nod my head. What was I supposed to say "yes I met Charlie. Actually I'm in love with your soon to be wife, and if I hadn't had messed up she would still be mines" I thought to myself. Just thinking of Charlie being with another guy made me cringe, let alone engaged. I stare up towards Charlie once again and realize a single tear at the corner of her eye roll down her face before she wipes it away. Why? Why did she have to be engaged to be married? "Okay boys me and Charlie are going to go back to our hotel to get settled in then we'll meet you at dinner tonight." Ted explains as he interlocks his his fingers with Charlie's. they began to walk away toward their rental car, and as they walk away Charlie loos back at me one last time before she gets in to the car with her fiancée.
