I sat in my dark room alone. I sat there and thought about everything. My eyes started to glass over and then they over flowed with salty liquid that ran down my cheeks. I wiped the tears away and slipped my shoes on. I knew it was late but I had made up my mind. I got into my car and headed to the McDonough's.
When I got there I knocked softly and waited for the familiar sound of the dogs paws coming toward the door. Soon it opened and Toby appeared.
"Hey, Ali. You okay?"
"I'm fine." I said and brushed past him. He stood there with a confused look on his face and then shut the door.
I walked up the stairs and down the hall. I stood in the middle of the hallway between two bedroom doors. Connor to the right and Riley to the left. I took a deep breath before making the turn that my heart wanted most.
I opened his door and he was lying on his bed. The boy I wanted. The one I loved. He looked up me in surprise and got up. He embraced me in a hug and I cried into his shoulder.
"Ali, what's wrong." The boy in front of me asked.
"I made my decision." He nodded as he understood.
"I want you, Riley." I said and I could see a small smirk on his face. "I love you."
"I love you too." He said and kissed me softly.
Riley was my first love. I couldn't let him go forever. If you love something set it free and it'll come back.
We were interrupted by a shadow draping over us. I turned around to face the doorway and a set of blue eyes stared right at me. A set of blue eyes that usually glistened in happiness were now dark and ready to burst into tears. Next thing I knew the blue eyes were gone and I was turning back to Riley.
"Go." Riley mouthed to me and I gave him a questioning look. "Go talk to him."
"Come with me."
"He won't want to talk to me."
"We both need to talk to him. Lets go." We got into Riley's car and headed onto the road in search of Connor.
We drove around their neighborhood for what seemed like hours. I sighed and took a deep breath. My breath was shaky as I was holding back tears. I hoped Connor was okay. Riley grabbed my hand and squeezed it while giving me a reassuring look.
If I was Connor where would I go? Then I remembered the run down hotel he took me to.
"Riley, go into downtown."
"What? Why?"
"Because I know where your brother is! Now go!"
