        Chapter 2

Two questions were going through my mind right now. Should I, or should I not call the agency? The questions kept ringing repeatedly in my head, and I felt like fainting.

I was currently in a very important discussion with my brain. I was supposed to call the agency today, and discuss some things with Mr. Poop, the main guy. Oops, did I just say Mr. Poop? I meant Mr. Stupid with no life.

          Wow, wasn’t I being nice?

Anyways, I really should just pick up my phone and call him. Right? But who knows what things the agency wants to tell me. They better not send me on some top secret mission again. Oh my gosh. They must be! Just shoot me now. Well, I guess I'll try to waste some time then.

I hopped off my bed, and moved onto my rolling chair. I spun on my chair, watching the colors of my room blur past me as I continued to ignore the inevitable phone call I would soon have to make. It sounds bad, but I really couldn’t bring myself to care—it was just too fun.

Oh man, I really should call them. Whatever. I might as well get it over with.

With my feet trying to stable themselves, I walked over to my old cell phone and entered in 11 horrid numbers. (683) 578-0025. After the last number, I regretfully pressed the green icon, and listened to the repeated beeps.

"Hello?" I asked when I heard some clicking from the other end.

"Who's speaking?" A gruff voice asked.

"This is Penny Woods. Is Mr. P there?"

"Oh Penny, we've been waiting for you." Is it just me, or does that sound like something that a serial killer in a horror movie would say?

           "So... What's up?"

"We have something we need to tell you. Come right away. And don'tloiter."

"Thanks for asking." I retorted sarcastically before I hung up. Picking up my black backpack and slipping on my gray converses, I scurried down the stairs. It was time to go downtown.

Three things were going through my mind as I sat in the dingy bus.

One, I hope no one recognizes me.

Two, this better be worth the trip.

Three, why is there gum on my leg?

I touched my thigh where it was pressed against the seat, and felt something sticky. After further inspection, I saw an icky green piece of old, chewed gum. That is disgusting. Carefully, I wiped my hand on the other seat, smothering the gum all over it, and off of my hand. I hope no one saw me do that...

The bus slowed to a stop, and I scrambled out the door, avoiding anyone's eyes. Unfortunately, I didn't miss the glare that an old lady shot me as I stepped out. Oh well, it’s not like I'll see her again in my life, unless she rides the same bus as me again. Shoot.

I placed one foot in front of the other, and quickly made my way to a run-down music store, Beats, and slipped in the back door. The fake cobwebs hung in the corner, making the doorway seem old and unused. I laughed, seeing as that was the exact opposite because people walked through this place almost 24/7.

I hurried down the stairs, as fast as I possibly could, and walked up to Room 3. Pushing the door open, I stepped in, and quickly took the only empty seat in the gray room.

"I see that you finally made it," Mr. Poop said.

"Yup." I guess I ran out of remarks.

Mr. Poop looked a little shocked at my response, but continued talking. "How is your identity at school working out? Any problems?"

"It’s going fine." I think I was doing okay. I mean, no one noticed that I was a spy yet, and no one would even think that I used to be Ms. Popular at my old school.

"Okay then. Onto the business. We need you to attend this party, and figure out who this guy is working for." He pushed a picture in my direction.

A young man, possibly in high school, was standing in the picture, looking to the side. He seemed to be searching for someone, as his eyebrows were scrunched together in concentration. His brown eyes twinkled in the party lights, making him seem playful and mysterious.

"When is it?" I asked, seeming as I had no choice in the matter. I have to admit, I wanted to find out more about him. Not because he was good looking of course—I had been trained to look past people’s appearances— it was just because he seemed mysterious.

"Tomorrow night, 8pm, at Park Street. Good luck."
