Chapter 4
Smiling at the coffee-eyed suspect, I confidently strode over to his side, not breaking eye contact once.
"Hey." He said, looking laid back and relaxed.
"Hey. I'm Trissa." I smiled again, hopefully looking stupid.
"Name's Jake. Jake Cooper."
"Ooh. Jake." I said, and giggled for good measure.
"Yeah... You want to get out of here?"
Leave? Should I? He might drop some more hints about his boss and job. I might as well try it. Don’t get me wrong, the normal me would never do this. Trissa, on the other hand, probably would and as an undercover agent it was my responsibility to try my hardest to get some information out of this guy.
"Sure." I followed him out the back door, and we walked down the street, the booming music behind us.
"So, what's a pretty thing like you doing at this party?"
I giggled. "Just enjoying a good Friday night. You?"
"Yeah, same."
We turned into an alley, and I started thinking of things that could happen. I could push him onto the wall, and throw questions, or just try to sneak some answers from him the normal way. Hmm... There isn't anyone around, so I might as well have some fun with this.
"Did you come with anyone?" I said, hoping that no one would notice that we left.
"No." He answered flatly.
Jake suddenly stopped, and I turned to face him. In a second, I was pinned against the stone wall. Oh my, how the tables have turned.
"I know you aren't some dumb bimbo. Why are you really here?" he demanded.
"What are you talking about? I just wanted to enjoy a good Fri-"
"You know what I'm talking about. Now answer my questions, or I won't stop myself from getting a little physical."
"I really don't know! Just let me go!" I wiggled in his grasp, trying to seem defenseless and weak. I could easily beat this guy…right? I forcefully shoved him, but he didn’t budge. He must have been intricately trained, maybe even more than me! I tried kicking him again, but he dodged my attacks swiftly.
Yes, he was definitely some sort of spy.
"Just tell me already. What are you, and who are you working for?!" he demanded again, before directing his fist at my face. I dodged it quickly, before kneeing him in the groin andsprinting away rapidly. Boy that was a close one. Maybe going on this mission wasn't such a good idea...
"I'm sorry, I didn't get any information out of him, Mr. Po--, I mean P."
"Sorry doesn't cut it Miss Woods! We sent you on a mission, and you didn't find anything!” he shouted, almost killing my perfect eardrums.
Finally, he calmed down and sighed in defeat, although the glare remained on his face. “I expected more from a Woods gal."
A few silent moments passed, with Mr. P glaring at me as I darted my eyes around the room, avoiding his gaze.
"Well, I did find out that his name is Jake Cooper, or at least his alias is."
Mr. P sighed loudly, before saying, "I guess we can work with that. Don't disappoint me next time, or I'll have to talk to your mother about this."
Oh no! He couldn't tell mom. She would kill me. Not literally, because no one would think the "Great Woods Girl" would hurt her own family, but she would definitely lecture me to no end.
"Please don't. I'll be better next time, okay?"
"You better. You're making me old."
"You already are old."
I think I struck a nerve, because Mr. P's face started turning red. Like really red.
"Hmm.. I think I need to go talk to Liz Woods. Don't you?" Mr. P smirked, knowing that he had the upper hand. He knew that I’d do anything to stop him from telling mom.
"No, no you don't. I'll try to find more info about Jake, so please don't tell mom."
The chorus of ‘Call Me Maybe’ rang through the room, and Mr. P stood up and left Room 3, loudly grumbling along the way.
A/N:
