Welcome back to school," Oliver, my best friend, said in a monotone voice. He smiled. "Okay. The best thing about today is a small gathering I am having at my house tonight. Be there or be square. " I rolled my eyes.
"You know I'll be there. It's so fucking stupid they make us start school on a Friday. I'll have to stay over, though. My parents aren't too happy when I come home smelling like beer and vomit at three AM, " I quipped.
I had managed to stay away from Garret for the most part. The only times we actually saw each other were the times my parents had dinner with his mom. Lilian and Kat played and I had to keep Garret company. And then we saw each other when we would get mail at the same time or when I would go to pick up my sister from his house.
Lilian and Kat were in the same class this year. They had sleepovers like every day. It got annoying but I put up with it. At least she wasn't annoying me!
Oliver and I parted ways, making our way to homeroom. I received my schedule to see I had AP English, algebra 2, gym, chemistry, and a free period. I made my way to English.
I don't really make the best grades, but I love English. It was my only advanced class, and I'm really good at it. It's probably my favourite subject, besides gym.
I took a seat at the desk with a sticky note that had the name "Brandon, C" on it. If you were to put that into normal people terms, it would mean C. Brandon, which means Chase Brandon. That's my name, don't wear it out!
The sticky note on the desk next to mine said "Taylor, G" and on the other side, "Oliver Z". That was Oliver! I think. There was another Oliver in our grade but I was pretty sure his last name was Bane or something. Nobody can even spell my Oliver's last name. His dad is from India or Iraq. Some 'I' country.
Surely enough, Oliver plopped down beside me. And behind him, walking in the door, was a smiling Garret. He was talking to Tessa. Tessa wasn't even in this class! She sent me her schedule. We didn't have any classes together except algebra. Of course, I wasn't going to tell Tessa not to talk to Garret, but if he causes any more conflict in my relationship then I guess I'd have to talk to Tessa.
What could I tell her? Hey, Garret is really attractive and he's making me question myself and the whole world, so don't talk to him because I don't want to be gay. She would laugh her ass off.
Garret sat down right beside me. I groaned internally. How great. Garret was in my English class, sat right beside me, and was looking fine. He pulled some lip balm out of his pencil pouch and put it on, and I couldn't help but stare at his lips and how it would feel to ki-
No, no, no. Chase Carter Brandon, you are not gay.
Soon enough, the bell rang and the teacher, Mrs. Kurt, began to hand out our syllabus. We were sitting in three rows across the class, all facing the board. Mrs. Kurt's desk was on the left of the room, so she just gave the stack of papers to the person on the very left and told them to pass it down.
Sure enough, Garret was on my left. He handed the papers to me with a smile, and I knew I was blushing when I handed them off to Oliver.
I am not gay. I don't like Garret! I like Tessa. I like her boobs. And I like her because she is a GIRL. Not a dude with a dick and chest hair and no tits.
I bet Garret didn't have chest hair.
Gah! Shut up, brain! Listen to Mrs. Kurt!
Soon enough the bell rang. I couldn't help but check Garret out as he walked out of the class. He was wearing somewhat tight, black jeans with a blue polo and grey Vans. He had a blue beaded bracelet on his wrist. Some of the girls at my school had those. What are they called, lokai? Yeah. Those.
