"Alright, now Mrs. Briar you are going to have to relax your muscles and push, so that your child may exit the birth canal." Aerin Briar clutched onto her husband's hand as she went through one last contraction. Her screams were ear-piercing, but the pain was somewhat bearable. She pushed with all her might, until the doctor quieted her as he held up the newborn swaddled in a bright pink blanket. Her sensations were overflowing with joy, replacing the pain she felt right before.

The child was placed in her lap, wailing at her first sight of the new world. Vander Briar stood to the right of Aerin, admiring his new daughter, whose eyes were as green as the tall evergreens that inhabited their urb. Aerin looked down at her new child as well, rocking her gently so that she may rest in her enveloping arms.

The doctor walked away from the identification machine with a silver chain in his hands. He approached the child, wrapping the chain around her neck and attaching it with a clasp. It hung very loosely around the baby's neck. An I.D. tag hung in the center of the chain, which was in the unique form of a half triangle-like shape.

Her name was already printed, as well as her birthdate, urb, and her journey date. Aerin fingered the tag, reading her printed information. "Calysta Briar, I like it." she whispered to her husband. He only nodded in agreement, thinking of all the great things that would be in store for his newborn. Little Calysta yawned, her tiny hand reached up to touch her mother's face gently. She cooed, and looked up to her father who simply smiled at her acknowledgement. A stern voice from the doctor interrupted the intimate moment between her and her newfound parents.

"Mrs. Briar, I'm going to need to take your child to the Acquiring Wing, and she'll be sent to your house in two hours. As for you two, you are now dismissed from the hospital." "Thank you, Doctor. We will leave right away."

The doctor cradled the child after taking her from the mother's arms. Leading her out of the room, he handed her to the nurse in the Acquiring Wing. The child was set into a cradle, and a helmet was placed onto her head.

"Now, baby, this isn't going to hurt, it's just going to make you smarter, okay?" The nurse calmly described the process in a baby voice. Calysta simply sucked her thumb, not aware of what the nurse was saying. The nurse pushed the red button on the side of the helmet, and memories began flooding into Calysta's brain.

Back in the delivery room, Vander helped Aerin into the wheelchair, carrying her off of the sturdy bed. He could already tell that his daughter was going to be spontaneous and compassionate like his mother and a deep thinker like himself. He was just worried that his daughter wouldn't be able to cope with this society. He believed it may be too strict and uniform for her. "Is everything alright, dear?" The soothing voice of his wife consoled his thoughts as he pushed her wheelchair down the narrow hallway. "Yes, hun, I know there is a great future for her, and I just hope she doesn't turn out like Andreas..."

Hopefully you guys like this new story, I know I haven't been faithful to any of my other stories. That's simply because I didn't feel encouraged to write more and felt like the story line was weak. So, I'm starting anew. I promised myself that I'd write as much as possible and not quit on this story. Also, the chapters will be longer than this piece of crap introduction. Just to start you guys off. Hopefully I'll update by the end of this week. And that's what you missed on Glee. (:

Lots of love, authentickisses <3
