My mom and dad died in a car crash when I was eight years old. Now it seems I will have the same fate nine years later in the passengers seat of my boyfriend's car.
The first hit had sent us rolling.I struggled to turn my neck to glance over at Dallas. I immediately regretted that decision. I closed my eyes to get the horrific image out of my head. His arms dangling and blood pouring from his mouth and nose.
The car stopped rolling, by then the ceiling was crushed along with all of the doors. We were trapped, upside down with no help. I blacked out.
*About 30 minutes later*
I was awakened by the loud sirens and bright lights. And a fireman prying the door open. I looked to the drivers seat to see that Dallas was gone. The door was yanked open. The fireman helped me get out of the upside down car with a lot of pain. He heard my whimper of pain and called out for a stretcher. I was too overwhelmed. I was panicking until I heard a loud scream over everything else "RUBY!!! ARE YOU OKAY" As Katie ran up to me.
"Yeah... but Dallas... He's... He is gone." I choked back a crying sob.
"Oh no." She walked up to one of the police officers "Would there be any chance I could take Ruby home? Please?" Katie asked.
"Yeah, I just have one more question to ask." The female officer said.
"Okay" I said.
"Why were you in the car.....alone?"
