Jacob hit the ground, hard. A voice over him muttered "Get out of here, dungface." Jacob scrambled to his feet and ran around the dark street corner. He pressed his hand against his burning face. He winced as he saw dark scarlet on his hand. He bit his lip and fought back the urge to cry. As silently as he could, he sprinted home.

Jacob got bullied a lot, he was always the little runt that got kicked around. He wasn't very small though, he was just brainy and wasn't strong. This made him an all around target. He lived with his single mother, who worked late every day to be able to pay for the house. He had to learn to get his own food. So he made trips after school to McDonalds and the Grocery store, where he met his predators. It was kind of a get beat or don't eat sort of thing.

By the he get home, his mom had already arrived. He checked his cracked watch, 8:47, it read. His mom got home at 8:30.
"Hi honey, what happened?" She asked as he stepped in, fully aware that he got bullied. As he walked into the living room, she gasped.
"Oh! What happened to your face?"
Jacob couldn't hold it back anymore.
"Dyson beat me and shoved me to the ground!" He sobbed.
His mom was already getting bandages and antibiotic. She rubbed it on his face. Jacob had this put on him many times, but still winced at the sting. His mom then plastered a large bandage to his face.
"There we are, don't-"
"Don't mess with it or get it dirty, I know mom!" He finished, rolling his eyes.
"You've had this done too many times for your own good." His mother replied, rubbing his back "Get some rest, sweetie."
Jacob smiled at her and walked up the stairs to his room. He plopped down into his bed and tried to block out the pain and get some rest.
