Chapter 5

"Thank you for allowing me to spend the night in your room... I can't believe I dropped my key... God, I hope the chief doesn't end up finding out. For your sake and my own." Levy paced the floor in front of the couch that Gajeel was seated calmly on. He watched in amusement at first, but then saw the stress visible on her face and he began to worry a bit for his old friend.

He reached out in front of him and grabbed her wrist. Her eyes widened and she looked back towards him. His face was serious as he stared into her eyes.

"Calm down, Shrimp... There's no way that cigar freak would be able to find out your staying at a wanted criminal's hotel room." Gajeel tried to joke around but Levy only frowned. Her eye brows furrowed, locking her fingers with his. She practically forced him to hold hands with her but he didn't mind at all.

"You're not a criminal, Gajeel." Levy's voice was quiet yet had a confident tone to it. She looked down at her feet, slowly growing sad.

"Tell the cops that.. Oh right, you did." Gajeel rolled his eyes at the thought of the Fairy Tail police force.

"I just don't understand... If I was on the force then, I would've been able to prove you guilty! God, they are so stupid sometimes! It was obvious you were framed!" Levy began to rant about the mistake involving Gajeel. She retracted her hand, to Gajeels displeasure, and started to involve her hands with her talking.

"Levy, calm down... It's fine. I'm fine. I don't care living life like this." Gajeel grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him. Her hand ended up landing on the other side of Gajeel's body. She was leaned over him, their eyes locked onto each other's.

She slowly cupped his face with her hand, tears at the bases of her eyes.

"I do. You have to constantly be in hiding... It's all my fault. If only I hadn't lead them to you! I'm terrible! They found out where you were and your name because of me..." Levy cried out and Gajeel pulled her into a hug.

"Levy, it wasn't your fault. It could never be your fault. I was not being careful. I should have noticed something was up with that guy." He looked off into the distance. Levy did the same. They both began to recall the memory that started this all...

~~~Memory Of Capture~~~

It was a dark and gloomy day. The same day you'd expect to have in this kind of situation.

It was a chase. Multiple ones in fact. One person chasing after the other. That person chasing after yet another one. Though, they were all distanced from each other.

"Come on! I know an escape route from here!" The man in front of Gajeel called back to him. He was chasing him, of course. Gajeel was considered an accomplice. That is also why the police weren't all that far behind Gajeel.

According to the man he followed, the police were bad. They were only chasing after the two for fun. Gajeel didn't understand, but he didn't want to get caught. So, he ran with this man.

"In there, hurry!" The man pointed to a hole in the side of a run down building. He allowed Gajeel to go down first, in which he did.
