**Suga's POV**
As I dried my hair, waiting for Daichi to return from the shower, I couldn't help but smile at everything that happened today. Sure, some things were a little embarrassing, but it seemed to bring us closer. He had made my favorite food for dinner and helped me study for tomorrow's test. Daichi entered the room about 5 minutes later, yawning as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Tired?" I asked, giving him a half smile.
"Just a little," he replied. "Practice was pretty rough today. Those first years are definitely energetic." I laughed as he plopped onto the futon. He grabbed a book from his bag and started reading it. He always did enjoy reading. I caught a glimpse of the cover, Usami Akihiko, the youngest winner of the Naomori Award. I've read all of his books, he was a great author, the way his books really got their own emotions across. His more recent books seem happier in a sense, they were more enjoyable than some of his older books, which were a little more depressing. Daichi would always read books that I was reading, picking it up when I put it down, and eventually getting a copy for himself. I kind of liked that, it gave us something to talk about. He seemed to be only a few pages away from finishing before he yawned again and closed it. "Hey Suga, I'm going to go to sleep. I don't mind the light, so do what you need to," he said, smiling up at me before crawling under the blanket and drifting off.
I wasn't really tired, so I decided to get a little more studying in before tomorrow. Math wasn't my best subject, but it also wasn't my worst. I took a little longer to really grasp the concepts, but once I did, I was perfectly fine. I ended up doing math practice for about 3 hours. I checked the time on my phone after getting a glass of water, careful not to kick the futon again. 2:37 a.m. It was way past the time I should have gone to sleep, so I put down the books and pulled the covers over my head.
---
Daichi pulled me in for a hug, his breath warn against my neck. "I love you," he whispered as he pulled away. I grabbed his wrist, pulling him back towards me.
"Stay a while longer," I pleaded, my bottom lip sticking out a bit. He lifted up my chin with his finger, leaning in to peck my lips lightly. I felt the cool touch of his fingers on my forehead as he pushed the loose strands of hair that had fallen in my face behind my ear. His hand lingered there a while, I reached up, taking it in my own. I brought his hand close to my chest, his thumb tracing circles on my knuckles.
"Suga," he whispered lightly.
"Hm," I replied, wanting to hear his voice again.
"Suga..."
---
"Suga." I awoke to the sight of Daichi sitting next to me, my hand in his.
"Sorry," I said, taking my hand out of his. I was holding his hand like in the dream, close to my chest, and he was tracing circles on my knuckles as I stirred. "What time is it?" I asked, rubbing the weariness from my eyes.
"6:45. You slept through your alarm, I was going to wake you earlier, but saw the books on the floor and figured you must have stayed up late studying. There's still quite a bit of time before we have to leave, so I'll make breakfast while you get ready," he said, smiling as he stood up from his spot next to me. I could only nod in response, as a yawn escaped my mouth. I got up and got dressed, brushing down my hair and washing my face. The smell of eggs coming from the kitchen made my stomach growl. I put my books back in my bag and headed out of my room, setting my things down near the door. "Hungry?" Daichi asked as he set a plate of eggs, sausage, and rice in front of me. I smiled up at him with gratitude and began eating. He sat next to me, placing two glasses of orange juice down for the both of us. We finished eating, Daichi had went to gather his things for school, so I washed and out away the dishes. We were out of the house with plenty of time to spare.
As we walked to school, we didn't really talk much. I thought about what had happened this morning. I was asleep, but I felt so embarrassed about it. Did he try to move my hair out of my face, like in the dream? He didn't seem phased by us holding hands either? It was probably just a friendly thing, it's not like he could ever like me that way. Daichi was a guy, he probably liked Kiyoko-san, and he probably had a chance. There was only one way to find out. "So Daichi.."
"Yes?" he replied, looking up from the ground and meeting my gaze. I didn't realize how much I wanted his answer to be me until then.
"Um, never mind. It's not important, it can wait until later," I spit out before turning away and digging for my phone. No matter what Daichi's reply would be, it would bother me, and I really wanted to get through this test. As we approached the school, Nishinoya started bolting towards us.
"Daichi-senpai, Suga-senpai!" he yelled as he came to a halt in front of us. "I can finally come back to the club!" he exclaimed. I didn't understand how he could have so much energy. He would definitely get along with Hinata. "Same time as usual?"
"Absolutely," Daichi replied with a smile. "It's great to have you back." Nishinoya dashed away, going who-knows-where to do who-knows-what.
"What's going to happen when he finds out Asahi hasn't come back?" I asked, looking up at Daichi.
"I'm not too sure, but we'll worry about that when we need to."
We walked to our class. I was ready to get this test over with. As we got our papers, I realized I had done every one of the questions the night before. I finished the test with plenty of time to spare and decided to go to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror, fixing my hair with my fingers. I started thinking about my dream. Daichi had told me he loved me in it, not that that would ever happen in real life. I looked back up at myself, a light tint on my cheeks. In the dream, his lips were soft, and his grip was firm on my waist. The images in my mind made me blush even more intensely. I washed my face with water, tying to calm myself down, and walked back to class. As I entered the room, Daichi had just turned in his paper and was walking back towards his desk.
The day continued on like normal. We sat on the roof during lunch, Tanaka Kageyama, and Hinata joining us. Soon, school was over and we headed towards the gym. Kageyama and Hinata were already practicing, but there was someone else with them. We walked in on Hinata staring at Nishinoya like he was some kind of miracle. When Nishinoya found out Asahi hadn't come back, he didn't take it to well. After practice, he had told Daichi that he wouldn't be coming back to the club. We made a plan with Hinata to try and convince him, we'll see how that turns out tomorrow.
Daichi and I walked to town. We stopped by a small restaurant for dinner. I payed, with the money my parents had left, then we walked home.
