I looked around the area. I know that Starbucks was for people who have the most wealth and status in life but these people looked like a tribe of Neanderthal and I'm the only Patrician here.
I'm not being harsh though. I'm just giving my frank criticism.
Suddenly, I heard my phone's ringtone indicating that someone was calling. I swiped my iPhone first and checked the caller's ID. I saw Iñigo's name and quickly ended the call.
After what he has done, ha! I will let him taste what was the feeling of being ignored.
I turned my iPhone's audio profile into silent but quickly changed it to meeting mode because of some urgent appeals and needs.
I sipped and checked again my iPhone cause it keeps vibrating. There were 26 missed calls and 1 message.
I read the message.
From: Iñigo
Wondrous things come for those who wait. So keep the patience. K? Don't let the regret strikes you. He will come. Promise. Mwuah (╯3╰)
I closed and then opened again my eyes very quickly and laughed a little. Where the hell did he get that emoticon?
And who the hell I'm waiting for?
I was in the middle of my curiosity when my iPhone vibrated again. It was a message.
From: Iñigo
This was just a first step. Just try if he will be enough with your taste. Getting to know each other. Now is the time to make your heart believes in the name of love. ( ˘ ³˘)❤
I smiled again because of his senseless emoticon. And at last I knew now why he was doing this. I remembered the man who stared at me with a smile in his face. The one who wore a black beanie and shades. He also had braces, if I'm not mistaken, it's color was greenish.
I waited my coffee to emptied first before ordering again with another flavor to try something new.
Five minutes have passed when Iñigo went, I got Gary Paulsen's book for pastime whilst I'm waiting.
Waiting my Mr. Right. The icing on the top of my cupcake. The love of my life.
I checked my G-Shock, twenty eight minutes, still, no one was coming, maybe he was just preparing for his suit.
Patience, Ergyl. Just keep it.
He will come.
I'm done with the book I've been reading a while ago but no man was coming.
The advantage of being a silent reader. A fast reader.
Thank God I brought Shakespeare's greatest tragedies. I can make myself busy like a bee.
Until I ordered another dessert, I don't want to look nervous in front of that man. And excused the coffee I drunk whilst waiting on his presence.
One hour and seven minutes but there was still no shadow.
I sigh.
Just keep the patience, Ergyl. He will come. Iñigo assured it, he will not bring you down.
I opened again the Shakespearean book and flipped it twice and then thrice. . . repeated again. . . and again until none of the chapters interested me enough.
I backread this book many times so there was no thrill now.
I looked around the area. There were couples taking pictures, others were group of friends chatting about their crushes. There were businessmen proposing their projects with their respectable clients. And most of them were students finishing their thesis or research papers.
There was a free wifi here so no worries.
Everyone's busy and I'm the only one here decaying in my chair. What the hell!
I tried to open the window blinds beside me and beheld the puffy clouds and felt the gloomy weather.
I saw a worker turned on the television and I heard that it will rain today but the reporter said it'll be light rains. And before the flash report ended, the reporter advised the viewers to do not forget to bring umbrellas, caps, jacket and other needed stuffs to prevent sickness.
Darn! I forgot to bring my umbrella.
I looked outside and saw many people hurriedly walking and running because of the upcoming rain.
I can see the time where the colors of the sky become to change. It was a beautiful scenery. If Iñigo was here, I'm sure he will never passed this momentum.
The sun goes slowly below the horizon in the evening. I smiled. One of the beautiful endings. And then I came across the road that caught my attention.
The man had a dainty face that looked like it was done with small and careful movements by angels. He looked like prudent. His calm movements have made a prudent judge of a character, unlike the others who looked indiscreet and unkind as well.
With a second thought, this is it.
I checked my G-Shock. It is said that I waited four hours and fifty eight minutes but it was okay. The important is, he came.
But, what did he do? What made him busy and just forgot our date? Is this a date? Am I really dating? I shook the questions out of my head. What do I care? It doesn't matter as long as he never ditched me.
I watched him checked his Blue G-Shock. He was wearing the same brand of watch as me.
This is meant to be!
As he entered the café, everything went slowly. I couldn't get off his picure of manliness. He was just so delicate. I wanted to look him closely. I wanted to know if he was as delicate as he was in far away. I wanted to know him better. Talk him.
He looked again in his wrist watch and I knew exactly where he was going. To my heart!
Three tables ahead of mine and our paths will finally meet together. Sparks were starting to collide.
Until. . .
He asked me if I saw a woman and a little girl entered here because he was really worried about his family.
Instead of fireworks and symphonies collided in the sky, my face flashed in anger. He got scared and quickly ran away.
I waited five hours exactly. My patience gave up. I really feel dismayed, angry, sad, alone, lonely. I don't know what emotion I should feel right now.
I blinked twice to prevent the tears.
Until my phone vibrated. I didn't say hello and waited the caller to speak.
"Is this Ms. Zara?" I felt the worry in the voice but I'm more than worried to my cracked voice.
"What?" I responded coldly.
"I'm really sorry. I have something to make. Sorry for making you wait. I'm sorry because there was an emergen-" I ended the call and paid the bills quickly and walked away whilst my tears sprung like waterfalls.
