Two months ago...
Sometimes, you will only realize that something is so important to you when you lose it.
Jimin realized how Minyoung was so important to him three times.
The first time, when she left his school and transferred to another new one. What's worth was that she even moved to another city. At that time Jimin ignored that tiny tight feeling in his chest because of course he would feel that when his best friend was moving away.
The second time, when he visited her and saw in her eyes an excitement he hadn't seen before. He didn't --despite how long he had been a friend with her-- know that she could manage to have this look when she was talking about another boy.
He couldn't understand the feeling in his chest, but all he knew was that he didn't like it. Why hadn't he known that Minyoung could have this expression?
The third time, when he was watching her limb and immovable body for almost two months now. She looked as if she was sleeping, the wounds that had been there almost healed, except that she didn't want to wake up.
Ten years.
Ten years and Jimin hadn't realized how much Minyoung really meant for him. More than just a friend or brother as she used to address their friendship.
He didn't realize that if he lost her, his life would have no meaning. She was all his memories. He couldn't recall a time being without her. They were stuck together with each other like glue. Since they were seven till they became seventeen, her smile completed his own smile, since mostly she would be the reason of it.
It had become a habit to visit her every day. Jimin sighed when he saw Minyoung sleeping over her bed. Wires were sticking to her body and an oxygen mask which made a mark on her face. They sometimes removed it from over her face, but then return it back to her.
Biting his lips Jimin closed the door behind him as he grabbed a chair and sat beside the bed. She lost many weights and she became paler every day. He would pray for a miracle so she would wake up. No one knew why Minyoung hadn't woken up yet. The doctor said that her head wasn't affected by the accident, only her broken leg and some broken rips, which was the most dangerous injuries she had.
Jimin reached for Minyoung's hand, closed his eyes and prayed. He couldn't believe that who was lying helpless in front of him was his best friend who had the best smile, whom he spent most of his childhood with, who always laugh with him, cry with him, play with him, eat with him...
A tear skipped Jimin's cheek as a sob raised in his throat. "Wake up, please..." He pleaded."Minyoung... You have to wake up."
He kept calling her, but no response. He had been calling for her for weeks with nothing in return.

As Minyoung's mother entered the room, Jimin excused himself to buy a drink for her. (He just wanted to give her time with her daughter.)
The hospital was large. Larger than the one Minyoung was carried to after the accident.
After what happened Minyoung's mother considered the countryside, the country she had almost lived all her life in, a jinx. Her own son died there and she almost lost her one and only child left.
So immediately, she transferred Minyoung to a hospital in Seoul. She moved everything back to their old house that she lived at for ten years and decided to forget about everything related to her own city.
She had to give up being near one of her children in order to get the other alive.
Jimin admired her as if she was his second mother. He found her a strong woman who was ready to do anything for her own child, even if it pained her.
