Chapter 2

I glance at the clock and sigh. I was going to leave at 6, but it's now 8 o'clock. Im going to have to rush to get to my friends at the club on time and I'm certainly not in the right attire. I groan and push myself away from my desk. Standing up, I walk over to the small closer I had put in, hoping I have something appropriate in there. I smile seeing the dresses I have in here. I look through them and pick the pastel pink dress with small ivory flowers decorating the pattern. I quickly change, resetting the strap on my leg a little higher since this dress is a bit shorter than my work attire. I put my heels back on and reapply my makeup. I grab my things and start to head out. I say my goodbyes to the guests and the workers. I stop at Marcy and remind her of the safe if anything happens. I hug her and leave. I speed to the club, I can't remember the name of it, I just have been there a few times before. I turn on the radio and listen to the music playing. I pull into a parking space at the back of the lot and walk into the club, noting the name of the club is Indigo. I check my phone and see texts from my friends saying they were going to be late. Apparently traffic is bad where they're coming from, I still can't believe they are all riding in one car. I walk to the bar and ask the bartender to give me anything with vodka, to surprise me. I also ask for two shots of whiskey. I down the two shots and take the drink he hands me, I don't ask what it is and pay him. I turn around, leaning against the bar, just watching the people act like animals. A man walks up to bar, orders a white Russian, then looks at me.
"Now, tell me, what's a beautiful girl like you doing over here alone?" He asks, getting a little closer. I smirk at the man, as he attempts to flirt.
"I am waiting on my friends to get here." I reply with the smirk still plastered in my face.
"Well, how about I keep you company until they get here?" He says in a flirtatious manner. He takes a couple steps towards me again, closing the space between us, he lifts his hand and touches my face, trying to make me look at him. I grab his arm and twist it, leaving us face to face, very close. I see the fear in his eyes and smile widely.
I lean in closer and whisper in his ear "I don't like being touched by men I do not know. Touch me again, and i will break the arm that touches me. Understand?"
He nods quickly and stumbles over an apology then scurries away from me.
"Miss Rosani, when did you start visiting my club?" Mr. Fourn says from beside me, an amused look on his face.
"Oh god, call me Rosalia or just Rose, but I hate formality if it's not required. But I have been here a few times. My friends and I meet up on occasion to catch up. I didn't know this was your club, Mr. Fourn." I respond with a genuine smile on my face. I finish off my drink and ask the bartender for another then pay him.
"Call me Cristiano, or Cris for short." He smiles a dazzling smile. I can tell the liquor is already effecting me. He leans in close and whispers in my ear, "You would fit in great in my line of work." A shiver runs down my spine but I doubt he noticed. Damn liquor always puts my guard down.
"And exactly what is your line of work, Cristiano?" I whisper back with a crooked smile plastered on my face. Obviously he likes what he sees.
"May I touch your hand to take you to my office to explain?" He asks. He's smart, because if he wasn't, he would have made the mistake of touching me without permission and i probably would have broken his arm. I nod and he grabs my hand, pulling me away from the bar and into an office after we walked up some stairs.
I sit down on a couch that was placed in the room on a side wall. Just then my phone rings, and i answer.
"Yes, Martin?" I ask, my cold, clipped tone sinking back into my voice.
"Rosalia, there's a problem. Some men were here. Marcy tried to get to the safe but they grabbed her. She's gone. They took her." He rushes out.
I throw my phone across the room, it shattering and breaking beyond repair. I start freaking out.
"How?  No. I have to find her." I slam my fist into the wall, without caring that Cristiano was watching me lose my temper. I slam my fist into the wall a few times, and since it's simply a concrete wall, my knuckles start bleeding.
I turn around and look Cristiano directly in the eyes. "We can have this discussion another time, I'm afraid. As of right now, I have some people to take care of, if you catch my drift." I turn to leave but he grabs my arm then quickly lets go.
"I can help. If you just listen for a minute and agree to everything, me, you, and my men will work on locating your sister." I simply nod and keep standing there, waiting for him to talk. He realizes I'm not going to sit down and continues. "Rosalia, I'm in the mafia. I'm the boss of everyone. I run the show. I've been looking for a suitable woman to put on my team that knows how to handle a gun and handle herself without needing to be coddled. I will help you find your sister, and help get these men that are after you off your back. That is only if you agree to work with me and my men. You cannot tell anyone anything you see us do, if you talk, we kill you. I'm sure you know how things work, since obviously your father has tied with the mafia. He has made enemies, but probably not enemies stronger than us." He pauses and looks me directly in the eyes. "Will you stand with us? You'd be working with me personally. You'd be my right hand man, or woman should I say?"
"Are you serious? The only people I care about are my siblings and as of right now, my sister, whom I have been keeping in the dark, is at the hands of a man that will hurt her. I will stand with you and your men. Now, can we get to it? My sister is only 16. She knows nothing of this world, where as I was brought up to protect her and my brother. I am losing precious time the more I stand here. Let's get this going." I say with venom leaking into my words. He nods and calls a few people to come to his office before he looks at me.
"I hope you realize there is no going back now, you belong to this crew. Now, once they get here, we will go to your house so you can change into suitable clothing and we'll get going after that." After he says that, the same three men from earlier come into the office and stand there, ready for what's about to happen. I nod at them in greeting. "Now, Rosalia, do you have any idea who this could be?" He asks firmly.
"I know exactly who has taken her. His name is Mario Arsoni. He called me earlier, while we were in our meeting about the restaraunt." I reply in my usual clipped tone. He nods and thinks for a minute.
"Is there any way of tracking your sister?" He asks.
"Yes. She is to wear an item of jewelry at all times, I had tracking devices put into every piece of jewelry she owns. But I just smashed my phone, that had the locator." I am getting more frustrated by every minute we stand here.
"I have a locator application on my phone. Do you know her tracking number?" He asks and i not as he hands me his phone with everything ready for me to type in the number. I type in the number and see the blinking red dot moving further south, towards the desert areas of California. I hand him back the phone and pull my keys out of my small hand bag.
