Chapter One

I wake up to the annoying beeping that is my phone alarm. I groan as I turn it off. I slide my legs off the bed as I sit up. It's 5 o'clock in the morning. Why do I do this to myself? I get up and walk into my bathroom. I brush my teeth then get in the shower. When I get out, I grab my fluffy blue towel and go into my closet. I grab a black skirt that reaches about mid thigh and a white button down shirt. I put on my outfit, tucking my shirt in before grabbing my jacket and putting it on as well. I sigh as I put on my usual make up look, cateye eyeliner, mascara, and my cherry red lipstick. I look at my hair and decide to let it do what it wants. I run a brush through my wet hair and part it
Ugh what am I ever going to do with this hair. It's too long, but I refuse to cut it.
I sigh as I pull on my black 5 inch heels and head to the door, grabbing my car keys and purse on the way.
"Shit!" I exclaim as I walk back into my house, throwing my purse and keys back onto the counter. I walk back into my closet and move a couple pieces of clothing before finding the keypad for the safe. I type in my code and the safe pops open with a cracking sound.
I grab the strap for my leg and put it around my upper thigh, then grabbing my pistol and loading it before putting it in its place against my thigh.
I then run out of the house, grabbing my things as I leave. I jump in the car, starting it immediately and speeding out the driveway. As I sit in traffic my phone starts ringing.
"Hello?" I answer the phone, a bit agitated. I'm late to my own opening.
"Hey, boss, there's a man here looking for you and he's getting more agitated every minute you're not here." My nervous waitress says.
I groan and think for a second. "Put him on the phone, Elizabeth." I say coldly. Not caring if my tone hurt her feelings.
My dad raised me to be a cold hearted person and I don't intend to change just to spare feelings.
"Hello, Miss Rosani." A deep, rich voice says. Oh god, of course it's him.
"Hello, Mr. Fourn." I say in a cold, clipped time before contuing. "I am sorry for being late but I had intended in being there early, but I am stuck in traffic as of this moment. I will be there in a few minutes, just be a little more patient" I say, agitated. This day is going terribly. All because I forgot my fųcking gun.
"I'll wait for another 30 minutes, if you're not here by then, I am leaving and we'll have this meeting at my office." He says just as cold and clipped as I had.
"Agreed." I say shortly and hang up. I start speeding and weaving in and out of traffic when I can. When i see my exit, I take it quickly, I think I cut someone off, but i don't care.
I pull into my parking space at the back of the building and rush in the door. Someone grabs my upper arm when I enter the dining room and i quickly grab their arm and twist it back, alarmed. When I see Mr. Fourn I quickly let go.
"I apologize. I didn't know who grabbed me and I was startled" I say simply.
He nods then gestures towards the office. I nod and lead him into the back, unlocking my office. It's 7 o'clock now, and to think I thought I was going to be late for the opening.
"Alright, Mr. Fourn, what did you want to speak with me about this morning?" I ask him, getting straight to the point.
"You see, Miss Rosani, I wanted to discuss becoming partners in this business. I can see how much work you've put in to make this a successful restaraunt. I wish to help that along further. You see, I have a lot of experience in this department. I own several businesses." He explains. I nod my head and go into files on my computer. I look over a few things and print some papers out.
"I will accept the partnership. Look these over and get them back to me. We can set up the meeting when you have looked everything over. If you have anything you wish to discuss further in this meeting, say it now and I'll let you -" just then my phone starts ringing and i groan angrily, looking at my phone I see a private number. I hold one finger up, to tell him to hold on for a minute.
"Hello?" I answer the phone angrily, my voice coming out harsher than planned.
"Is this Rosalie Mercy Rosani?" An incredibly deep voice responds to me, obviously ignoring my tone.
"Yes, this is she. Now, who is this and what do you want? I am not in the mood to play around. " I harshly respond, not caring if I seem colder than I am.
"This is Mario Arsoni. And I'll be seeing you soon, love." He says simply, then hangs up. I let out a frustrated with and slam my phone down on my desk.
I look up and see Mr. Fourn staring as if I was a rare, new discovered animal in a zoo. That's when I hear the only employee I had come in this early scream. I stand up quickly and pull my gun from its holster. I look and see Mr. Fourn giving me an even stranger look.
"Listen, I know this looks strange, but my father has enemies that have been after me since a young age. And I have been trained to kill, effectively. If you are not comfortable, leave the papers and i will find another partner but I must go." I whisper my explanation to him. I rush out of the room quietly, finding Marcy crouching behind the bar. I look up and see three men with weapons drawn.
I stand up completely and aim at what seems to be the leader.
"Well, hello, men. I see you've made it into my restaraunt. Now, drop your weapons! Or I shoot! I will kill each of you without a second thought!" I yell at them, not caring about Marcy hearing anything, and hearing Mr. Fourn come out behind me. The men smile, looking at the man behind me.
"Boss! We've been looking for you. You weren't answering your phone and you've been gone longer than you said, so we came looking." He explains. I'm still aiming my gun, waiting for them to lower their guns.
"Miss Rosani, put your gun down." Mr. Fourn says to me.
"Not until theirs are away. How do I know you and your men aren't the people after me because of my father?" I reply simply with a clipped and annoyed tone. The men lower their weapons and i holster mine again. Mr. Fourn hands me signed papers along with a note he had written. I nod my head and help Marcy up.
"Don't EVER come into my business with guns drawn ever again unless it necessary! I will not tolerate it. I don't care who you work for, I will shoot to kill if it happens again!" I yell at the three men. They all stare wide eyed as if I'm a damn unicorn or something.
"Marcy, please go back to work. I need everything looking perfect before people start arriving. I will be leaving early today, but that's why I hired you. You know where the safe is, little sister. Be wise, if anything happens and you are too afraid to use it, call me. I won't be far. You know the drill once I leave." I state simply.
