"So when will we get Garroth out?" I asked the question I had asked a hundred times to Zoey and Emmalyn who were unloading supplies in the big tree. They were picking boxes up and placing them in a stack about three feet away from them, which made no sense to me, why didn't you push the big stack instead of doing the tedious task of transferring each box one by one.
They both let out quiet tired sighs.
"Aphmau, I know you need him back, but we just don't know. We can't get him out until someone is willing to give up their immortality. Laurance would have to kill you, Sasha, well she'd probably flat out refuse..." Zoey kept making a list.
"What we're trying to say is, it may happen, it may not happen. We just don't know. Until we do, we're just gonna have to make do with what we have." Emmalyn said, eyes full of sympathy.
"Well we can't just forget about him!" I yelled. They were taken aback at the sudden outburst, but calmed down because that was what was expected of me at this point.
"Aphmau, we know you miss Garroth and we can understand that. We had complications when you left." Zoey said.
"But right now, we cannot be for certain what will happen. We know nobody has an idea how to open the portal, and even though you have Irene's relic, it's still dangerous for you to attempt." Emmalyn said, placing a hand on my shoulder. I wiped a few tears away that threatened to spill out of my eyes.
"We know it hurts, but just give it time Aphmau. You've been through a lot at once and didn't shed a single tear. We miss that. Stay strong." Zoey said, hugging me. I hugged back, but couldn't help but think of possible ways to get my head guard back.Garroth
It's been a quarter of a year there...have they forgotten about me?
I swung at Zane, but blocked his attack at the same time.
I bet she hates me. Why did I have to betray her like that?
Zane grabbed my arm to pull me closer but used my weight to sling him around on the floor.
She'll never love me. Laurance is probably already making a move on her.
Zane recovered quickly and attacked but I ducked and tripped him, making him fall on the floor again.
Stupid, stupid, STUPID.
I slammed my sword into him.
A-and n-now...I-I-I've killed m-my own-n b-brother...
His eyes rolled back into his head. He.Was dead.
I...
I won?I-it's over... Just like that?!
It can't be!!! It was only about thirty seconds worth of a fight! Only half a year had passed in the overworld! A-and it was over?
I sighed in exhaustion and fell to my knees, mourning my brother.
I wish he was a better person, like when he was younger...
Well Garroth? What do ya do now?
I sat there looking around, hoping that Aphmau had figured out a way to get me out. But no. Nothing. Nada.
But suddenly, a flash came before my eyes. A portal, right in front of me. My eyes lit up with hope of a black haired girl running in yelling my name.
"Hellos!" A purple dinosaur...thing...came through instead.
"Ugh." I groaned, letting my head fall on the floor in disappointment.
"No, Garroth, wait." I heard another voice say. Another guy...or sloth...thing...came out, his red and gold scarf flying behind him.
"You really need to go help J-uh-Aphmau!!!" He said worriedly as he helped me up. I yank my arm away from him.
"How do you know that name sloth?" I growled as two other people came through the portal as well.
"I'm not a sloth! I'm a narwhal!" He whined. The three others burst into laughter.
"Ross, that's not we're here for!" The guy with the sunglasses scolded, but chuckled at him anyway. The guy named Ross let his head hang.
"Hey bro, I'm Sky, that's Jin..." Sky pointed over to the black haired guy who waved shyly. "...that's Barney..." He pointed over to the dinosaur.
"Hellos!" He shouted and grinned at me.
"...and of course you met Mr.Sloth over here." Sky said rolling his eyes.
"I'M NOT A SLOTH!" Ross wailed. Barney laughed.
"Forgive me if I'm being rude, but why are you here? And how do you know Lord Aphmau?" I said, crossing my arms.
"Abouts that's, Jesses not Lords anymores." Barney spoke quietly.
"Technically Levin is, and he's doing a wonderful job." Jin smiled, but then frowned again.
"But Jess hasn't been happy lately...she's missed you."
"Jess?" I inquired.
"Oh um...that's her real name." Sky said awkwardly.
"But the point is, she misses you Garroth, more than you know." Sky said depressingly.
"No she doesn't." I murmured harshly. "I betrayed her...she probably hates me. And how should I trust you know her really?" I almost shouted. Barney, Jin, and Ross all glanced each other nervously while Sky have me a challenging look.
"Her favorite color is purple, her favorite place to eat is Olive Garden, She has two children named Levin and Malachi, (talking bout Minecraft here Kay?) Malachi used to be a ghost but Zoey accidentally turned him human, she was almost forced to marry a werewolf prince that she didn't love, she has Raven black hair and brownish amberish eyes, she met you by your own brother who you don't remember for some odd reason running away and leading her to the village, she has Irene's relic, and when she does her in- talks to herself she usually says, 'hey guys! Jess/Aphmau here!' Don't you dare say I don't know her." He growled threateningly. All the other guys just looked at me like don't go any further or you won't exist anymore. I decided not to push it.
"O-okay...I'm sorry...I just miss her..." I said quietly. Sky's hardened expression turned soft and he put his hand on my shoulder.
"Go. Go through that portal. Make her happy." Sky smiled. I beamed at him.
"T-thank you...I am forever in your debt-"
"No." Sky cut me off. "We only want to see her happy." He smiled. I glanced over at the others who were nodding at me.
"Thanks." I smiled and ran through the portal.
