(OTP #2)
Zane

I heard a knock at my door. I smiled. Nobody ever comes to visit me, except Aphmau, so it must be Aphmau.
I stood up and opened the door in excitement.
"Hey Aphm-" I stopped because tears were pouring out of her bloodshot eyes. She looked horrible, as if she had been crying for days.
"Aphmau?" I inquired. Even though I probably should have been more caring, I really didn't want to make it worse.
"C-Can I come in?" She shook as she sobbed. She let a tear fall down her cheek.
I frantically scrambled out of the way of the doorway and behind the door.
"Of course!" I said, of course. (0.o)
She slowly walked in, but I didn't mind; she looked like she had been through a lot.
I closed the door behind her and slowly followed her into the living room. She sat on the couch whereas I stayed standing.
"D-do you want any soup or anything?" I asked gently.
She pulled her legs up to her face and buried her face into them. She shook her head in them.
"I d-don't wanna b-be a b-burden." She said, muffled by her legs.
"And you aren't. You know I'm willing to help you feel better." I persuaded. She hesitated before nodding her head. I chuckled a little.
"Alright. I'll go get your soup." I smiled.
"Thank you." She said shortly. She started sobbing quietly.
"Feel free to watch some TV too." I comforted and left the room.

When I finished her soup, I brought it in the living room. Aph was curled up on the couch, entranced by the colorful My Little Horsies on the TV screen. I grinned at the sight and sat down next to the still red-eyed Aphmau. I could hear her trying to hold back tears.
I sat the soup in front of her. She ripped her attention from the screen to her soup, to me.
"Thank you Zane..." She said quietly and distant. Tears started coming out of her eyes again.
She tried bringing her shaky hands to the soup. When she failed, her arms found a way around my neck in a hug. She started sobbing into my shoulder.
"Zane!" Was all she seemed to be able to force out.
"Aphmau, you know I don't like hu-" but I couldn't bring myself to say it.
"W-what?" She inquired. She shook violently.
I sighed and put my arms around her, returning the hug.
"You know I don't like to see you cry."

430 words.
I'm not squealing.

Shut up.
