it's gonna be alright, love.

it was not alright. allie was not alright. matty was not alright.

there was blood, blood soaking through the thin old-lady shirt he was obsessed with and the towels the boys were frantically pressing against an actual gun shot wound.

she couldn't get the blood out of her mind.

it was gushing from the arm of the store clerk. spilling from matty's side as he writhed in pain in the back of the getaway van. it was sticky on the corners of paper bills allie hadn't realized were still crumpled in her hands. the paper, bundles of it clenched in her sweaty palms, felt unreal.

allie was not alright.

her bloody, bloody love took a swig of hard liquor to ease the pain, and a hit of a joint to calm himself. his eyes, deep brown, sad and bloodshot, met hers and dared to hold a smile. allie simply stared.

it was not going to be alright.

bang.
