He looked at me and it was probably the look of pity. I thought of every judgmental thing he could've said to me, yet he said nothing. Him not saying anything was scaring me. He is judging me, probably planning on how to tell the whole school about what I do to myself and will never let me live it down. Maybe he is plotting to use this newly found information against me like black mail or bully me even worse.
I waited for his reaction, as I waited we just sat there. He was looking at my arms while I looked everywhere but his face. After a few minutes I took my arms away from his grasp and pulled my sleeves down. "Wow, need to get my cat under control haha her claws are the worst." I tried pulling a laugh for my little lie, but it didn't really work. "Why? What's going on?" That was all Calum had to say before he pulled me in for a long, strange but comforting hug. Now that I think about it, Calum can really be caring and gentle when he wants to be. But obviously that's not what he wants to be at school.
I just sat there just savoring the moment hoping that Calum would drop the subject, but obviously he doesn't want to let it go so quickly. "I told you it was my cat, you ever seen a cat scratch someone with their viciously sharp claw like talons?" I held a straight face and looked into his eyes. Wow, that's all I can think. I mean I haven't forgotten the situation that I'm in but.. Wow... I now see how he can mesmerize anyone he pleased. "We both know that's a lie Jinx, tell me the real reason of those marks on your arms and tell me what's going on with you and that guy who chased you all the way here." Calum held a serious look and demanded me to tell him. "Hold on, you think that I am just going to tell some random person who has hated me the minute they saw me and not to mention that I haven't known you long enough for me to build up trust for you yet. But by the way it's going my trust for you is extremely small considering that you've turned the whole school against me. I'm very thankful that you helped me today, but it's going to take a lot more than just this to make me open up to you so easily."
After I said all of that it was completely silent, nothing but the wind blowing against the house and crickets chirping. Calum stood there looking at me, probably thinking about what I had just said. I didn't raise my voice or anything but it was evident that I was a little irritated by the fact that he wanted me to tell him my story. He then got out of his thoughts and continued to aid my wounds from the ropes quietly. It's not like I wanna be mean or anything but I don't completely trust him just yet. After I was all fixed up I looked at the clock and literally almost fainted. It's around 11 at night and Jason should've been home a long time ago, for gods sake I hope that Darwin wasn't roaming around the house. I quickly put on my shoes and thanked Calum for helping me today. "Wait where are you going? That creep can still be out there and I'm pretty sure he knows where you live now so it wouldn't exactly be a good idea to rush out home." He was in the kitchen as he poked his head out to tell me that.
The guy has a good point, Darwin knows where I live now and it wouldn't be safe for me to go back, but Jason.. My phone is there as well so I can't call my mom and I can't call the babysitter which probably brought Jason back to their house considering that no one is there. "Here." Calum tossed his phone at me, and lucky I caught it. I swear it was like he was reading my mind. I mouthed a thank you as I dialed my moms phone number. "Hey mom um.. I'm not sure how to tell you this.."
J- Jinx M-Mom
M: What happened Jinx? Just tell me so you can get it over with faster.
J: HE is back....

J: Okay one, don't need to yell, phone is literally right next to my ear. Two, I'm at a um... friends house because he knocked on our door and tried to kidnap me so I had to run.
