Months passed and Lara was called back to the base. She had been staying with Mavros in his hut for a while. They had grown into great friends, but Lara couldn't help but feel butterflies in his presence. On the day Lara had been requested back at the base Mavros had approached her to say goodbye. "Must you go? They have enough pilots ro fight off the empire. I'd feel much better if you stayed here." He said solemnly, yet still trying to retain some of the childish personality he had some of the time.
"Unfortunately yes.... I don't know when I'm coming back or if I'm coming back. But I will miss you Mav. Just promise me you won't change too much while I'm gone." Lara felt even more butterflies again. She wasn't just saying goodbye to a friend, but she was going to be helping in an attack against the Death Star. It was certain death if you approached without caution.

Mavros smiled a small smile of sadness mixed with the urge to chuckle. "I cannot promise Lara. I can only say that whatever you come back to it will still be me." This did not give Lara any comfort. But she said her goodbye and boarded her ship.

If only hindsight had helped her see what Mavros would become. Without Lara being the one he focused his time on he became bored. Leaving him susceptible to any promise of excitment that came his way. Sadly, Mavros had been welcomed to the dark side. Which had surprised her when she returned and saw only a note from him, explaining his reason for leaving.

This would be the last she heard of her friend Mavros Imagara for a long time...
