Shortly after Lara returned from her mission fighting against the Death Star she returned to that little planet she was living on with Mavros. She couldn't wait to see her friend again, and her near death expirence gave her a new found confidence that she was going to use to finally convey her feelings towards Mavros. She landed her ship and jumped out happily and ran back to the tiny hut she had been living in. Upon approaching, she noticed the normal fire in the fire pit had been out for a while. Her mood changed drastically.
She entered the hut cautiosly, ready to draw her blaster in case the opprotunity showed itself, and she looked around. She found a note on her blanket from Mavros, it read:
Dear Lara,
It has been a short while that you have been gone from me, but without you I became uninterested in the normal joyful duties around this hut. I was approached by a sith by the name of Darth Fallus, he promised me that I would learn to protect myself more than I could as a Jedi. I have gone to the training grounds with him where I shall learn all of my new skills... I regret that I will not be home to welcome you, but I also regret the fact that I will never be returning again... I am so sorry. But I shall think of you always.
-Sincerely,
Soon to be Darth MavrosLara nearly collapsed in shock. Mavros left to become the very thing she was trained to fight. "How could you Mavros?! I trusted you!" She yells in frustration, knowing that Mavros is not there to hear. Yet, somewhere in the foliage not far from the hut, Mavros stood hiding and listening to Lara as she yelled and began sobbing. Lara couldn't take it, she needed to be rid of this place. The only logical thing to do at this point was to return to the base and arrange living quarters there from then on.
As she got in her ship she was starting to cry. Her tears began falling like rain would on a window, starting slow and then coming down with such intesity that it couldn't possibly stop. She takes off towards the base that would become her home, but as she was leaving Mavros continued hiding in the foliage. And as soon as she took off a single tear streamed down his face and he stormed off back to his dark master. They would never see each other again for almost 30 years... But on different terms.
