"Hello?" A boy's voice called out. Somebody was walking through the graveyard, and I was pressed against a wall amongst the tangled ivy that grew there. I knew that he had seen me, but he probably thought I'd turned the corner instead of hiding against the cold marble mausoleum. That's exactly what I wanted him to think.
He couldn't know I lived here. Nobody could know about me. I don't even have a name. If he found me, he'd tell his mother or father and they'd come back and see me. They'd tell people about a girl with wild black hair and glowing green eyes lurking among the graves. People would investigate. Police would get involved. I'd be dragged away and thrown into foster care when they found out that I was a minor. I'd be lost in the system, because who wants a crazy teenage girl with no parents?
This was all mingling in my mind when I heard his footsteps behind me. "I see you." Those three words froze the blood in my veins. Despite the beautiful voice that said them, they were still poison. I'd been found.
(This is the first story I've written. I'm not sure if I should continue it, but if you like it, please comment and tell me what you think. Thanks!)
(I'm not sure how to add chapters from my phone, so I'm sorry about the weird format)
"Why are you hiding from me...?" He asked as I broke away from the shadows. "I thought you might be dangerous." the lie came out smoothly, just like I'd hoped. "Oh" he almost sounded hurt. I wasn't sure what to say, so we stood there in silence for a few minutes until he spoke again. "You live here, don't you?" the question shocked me "Y-yes... please don't tell anyone." I mentally cursed myself for giving up my secret so easily. What was wrong with me? Why was I so interested in this boy?
Not an hour later I'm sitting in the mausoleum talking to the boy. He'd said his name was Alex and I'd told him my own name. "So, Ivy... why do you live here?" My response was delayed "Well... I ran away... and this is the only place I could think of to stay. And... I like it here." He nodded, obviously unsure what to say next. "Can I stay?"
