He stayed on my mind for the whole weekend and come Sunday I was stuck.
I knew him I swear I did, but I couldn't place it. He kept me up all night, not one time did I sleep. You could tell by how red my eyes are and the circles under them. My dad was worried sick he would pester me on getting some shut eye, he would say "If you were the opposite of sleeping beauty you would be awake and ugly, so get some shut eye before your prince runs away".
That one made me laugh, he always did that.
And after he left I started to fall asleep in my thoughts, until I heard pecking at my window. I got up and sluggishly walked to my window, opening it to see a yellow bird with orange and red feathers and what looked to be a feathered crown on his head.
His beauty was so transcending that I felt myself go to touch it.
Ignis.
"Ignis?" The bird peeped a little. His name was Ignis, I guessed so I tried again.
"Ignis." It peeped a little louder and pushed himself closer to my hand. But as I went to touch him my dad burst through my door.
"Mary, come downstairs there's something I have to show you."
He rushed out of the room leaving no time to argue. I rushed after him stopping at the door when I remember the bird.
Looking back he was gone, a red feather in his place.
