First Day At School

Emma's P.O.V.

"Emma! Ethan! We're leaving!" Our mom and dad yell for us to come downstairs. I roll over off my bed and flop down onto the floor. After lying on the floor for a few seconds I push myself up and walk over to the door and open it.

"Emma!" My mom yelled from downstairs.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming mom!" I yell as I'm walking down the stairs. I walk down stairs and see my mom with her hands on her hips waiting for me.

"We are leaving honey. We need you both to watch Jane! And don't destroy the house." My mom said to me.

"Aren't you gonna tell us not to throw a crazy party?" I ask sarcastically.

"Well honey I didn't think I would have to worry about that considering you and Ethan combined only have like two friends." My mom said.

"She's not wrong." Ethan stated from the kitchen. I scowled and walked into the kitchen where Ethan was and saw Benny there too.

"Hi Benny." I said walking over to the fridge and opening it.

"Hey Em." He replied. I grabbed a soda out of the cabinet and sat down at the table with them as they were talking about high school. Next thing I know Benny got up and so did Ethan then Benny left and ran over to his house. Confused I walked over to the door where I see Benny running back to our house with a lot of candy.

"Look at all this!" Ethan said helping Benny put it all down on the counter. "What'd you do, rob an ice cream truck or something?"

"Tomorrow we officially join the high school brother, and sister, hood." Benny said as they sat down and I went over to the couch by Jane (Ethan and my little sister) and started watching tv. Then I heard Benny continue, "we are men. We must mark the moment."

"Let's make it a Sunday to end all Sundays. Remember in grade five when you put 176 of these in your mouth?" Ethan asked Benny holding up a bag of marshmallows.

"Yeah, right! It was 186!" Benny defended.

"No way." Ethan argued. "I did 172; you did 176."

"You barely hit 150!" Benny argued back the reached for the bag of marshmallows, and they were going to settle this here by having another competition.

Jane suddenly turned her head towards one wall then over to Ethan and Benny.

"Hey, Ethan. Do you hear that?" She asked but Ethan ignored her and continued to stuff marshmallows in his mouth. "Emily what about you?" She asked me.

"It's probably just something outside. Don't worry about it." I said to her changing the show she was watching to the new episode of The Vampire Diaries and settling Into the couch.

"Teenagers really are dumb." Jane said to her bunny standing up and walking away.

"I'm winning." Ethan said with a mouthful of marshmallows.

"No, I am!" Benny said with his mouth also filled with marshmallows.

"Em? Who's winning?" I hear Ethan say then I shake my head and answer.

"Not me that's for sure." I tell them then return to my show. Out of no where I hear a scream, it's Jane. "Oh crap, that's Jane!"

We all run towards the door and outside, once we are outside Ethan and my mom and dad are out of their car hugging Jane who was spooked by something. Ethan and Benny are spitting out their marshmallows behind me as I just look at them and sigh.

"Oh great." I murmur.

"Hey, you're home early." Ethan says and Benny awkwardly waves.

"How was date night?" I ask attempting to lighten the mood like Ethan was.
