"Mirror, mirror on the wall," I said, while staring at the same mirror on my room's wall. I do this every night, so it's never a mystery to everyone in my house anymore, "Is there an entity among us all?" I asked.

Yes, I'm calling for those who are not like us. Those who have passed away already. Those who made their way to the afterlife. Those who are simply, dead! Ghosts perhaps! I don't call them that. I prefer, as what a ghost once told me, spirits.

Later, behind me in the mirror stood a girl. She has a curly grey-white hair and a permanent smile. Her eyes poured stagnant tears that never flows. She's translucent and a spirit. Her name is Poppy.

She has always been there since I contacted her. Her only speech is 'die' but surprisingly I can understand her. I helped her and with her case. Yes, I pointed out who killed her and now she's free from the ties of evilness.

"die die die die" she said, as she speak her mouth didn't open and her smile didn't move.

And yes, I understood her. Her speech is crystal clear and precise. She said, "Hey! Mercury. What's up?" Yep, that's we she said.
As clear as water that came from the clearest beach ever!

"I'm moving. I'll be studying in America. I'm leaving." I said.

There was great pause. Her skinny, transparent arm raised as her index finger rise on its own. The other side of the door to my room lit a blue, dim light. It entered through the narrow outline of the doorway.

I'm not in the real world anymore. It will be dark outside and the blue light from the lamp of dead. I'm in the world of the lost souls. The world where few are left since I helped almost every souls in their deaths. I'm in the world I call as 'The Other Side'.

The puzzling mystery is, why Poppy is still here? She should be in the light now. A spirit like her should be in the light. Where all of the souls that found peace in their transparent heart go. Poppy is stuck here?

"Poppy, why did you come here? I thought you already came to the light?" I asked the poor soul.

"die die die die die die die die! DIE DIE!" she said as my mind translate it to:

"I know why you called me! you're leaving! YOU'RE LEAVING!"

"As if I have choice! I'm sorry to leave you Poppy but I need to." I replied.

"die!" or as I have heard, "fine!" she is angry but she can't hurt me. She's too translucent that she can't touch me.

After one blink, I came back to my old, dusty room and saw myself standing. A knock on the closet sounded, as I placed the lamp on my side and it disappeared.

Is there another one that needs my help? Soon I'll be going to America and I don't think that I can help him or her. The question is, is it really a spirit?

I walked towards the closet. A loud heavy breathing came out every step I take. I slowly open the knob and gradually open my closet. When it's finally open wide, I saw nothing but old coats and pairs of boots on the floor.

"I know you're in there." I said, scanning through the clothes hanged.

"die die Die!" something said but it was no something. It's a someone.

Her voice is so different from Poppy. Poppy's sound is chesty or smoky while the closet monster's voice is squeaky. And I know who it is. I must not kill the joy and just ride with it.

"Poppy?" I asked, "Or another closet monster?"

Then I saw a hand hanged underneath a coat. Her hand was not transparent and grey. It was fair and had a tattoo of the colon symbol. The tattoo is similar to mine.

When I got the opportunity, I grabbed her and hugged her tightly that we stumbled upon a shoe. It was my girlfriend, Venus. Yes, I know, it's crazy to have a couple with their first names coined after planets closest to the sun. Well we don't call us planets, we prefer to call it as gods.

We laughed as we recover our balance. But in split second her smile changed. It became a sad, sorrowful frown. I know the reason. I'm leaving her.

"Are you really leaving?" she asked.

"I have to," I replied, "Don't worry there will be no reasons for you to be mad at me when I'm there. I'll call you, if possible every second. There will be no hanky-pankies or anything that can make you jealous."

"But I don't think I can hold on to a four year long distance relationship." She said.

I held her chin and grabbed her back. My lips slowly penetrate hers. As we kissed, I felt her happiness. She can trust me as I trust her.

The door opened and my mother came in my room. She saw us. Like as if the first time. She smiled and closed the door. She opened it again and said, "Mercury, you have a visitor."

When she closed the door, we came back to business for like five minutes. After that, we went outside and to the living room.

So that was the first chapter. Tell me me what you think about it in the comments. I know it's short so don't remind me of that.
