"Officer DeFoe!"  I shouted this last morning. Over the course of the night my first mate had disappeared. We searched into the sea looking for him, for he may have fallen overboard. We thought we found the DeFoe, however, when we heard Matt scream:
"There be a skulk swine floating in the sea!"
Being a proper Englishman I did not understand him at first, but when the doctor pulled me aside to see the person 'floating in the sea' I immediately knew it had to be DeFoe. Using a net contraption, made by Frost, we pulled the person up on board. However, do our dismay, we noticed it was not DeFoe.
"Throw it back, it's not DeFoe!" I said.
"No!" The doctor insisted, "she seems to be alive!"
Within a day the woman was back on her feet, and taking authority, making sure the entire crew did its job.
I was so amazed at her leadership, that I asked her her name and where she may have came from.
"I was first mate on a ship that must be destroyed due to storm right now."
"That's not name," I return joking, "so, 'first mate', we traveled through the same storm and we lost our first mate, do you wish to take his place. I only ask this, for you seem experienced."
"Her! "Matt butted in, "I've been on the ship-"
"I'll do it!" The girl finished, cutting off Matt.
"Plus, even a stranger is more qualified than you, 'Mate'," I smirked at Matt.
The buccaneer walked towards the cabin boy, grumbling about the new first mate.
