"No, no, no" I scream as I toss and turn in the hospital bed. What a lovely dream that was. How could Adam do that to me?! Sometimes he ticks me off so much, as if I don't feel worthless enough.
"Lacey! Lacey? What's wrong?!" worry laced Adams voice.
"Get away from me!" I order screaming for help that I knew wouldn't come.
"Lacey, it's me. Adam. I'm not going to hurt you." Adam kept going on slowly. You could tell he was nervous, scared for me it seemed.
"Lacey, you must've had a dream, it wasn't real I promise. I never hurt you. I won't ever hurt you. I love you." His voice was weak as he was close to tears. How could someone so scared be lying? He must have been telling the truth, he must love me. I mean of course he loves me, it's Adam. I could he his muffled sobs coming from across the room. I still did not dare open my eyes. I couldn't handle seeing him cry because of me.
"Sweetie, I have a surprise for you" Adam said slowly, not to scare me.
"What is it?" I asked expressionlessly. I knew better then to get my hopes up. I opened my eyes.
"It's your dream" Adam said as his bright blue eyes seemed to sparkle from the tears. He smiled a genuine smile through his tears. He was never the monster from my dreams. Tears began rolling down my face. Why did I ever believe that he was bad?
"No Lacey, shh shh, it's okay. You're okay." Adam said walking closer and wrapping his arms around me.
