As I woke up this morning, I was worried about Mother but I couldn't look at my brother and act like nothing has happened. I got up from bed trying to stay quiet. When I got to the bathroom I found a note. It was from Mrs.Stuart, It said I had the rest of the week off.
As I went downstairs to eat breakfast I saw nobody was awake. When I checked the time it read, 8:50.
As I sat down I heard footsteps coming toward me. And of course it was him.
"You're not going to share with me.." He said with a smirk in his face.
I didn't reply back.
"It's ok, I guess you don't appreciate what I did for you yesterday."
"Im sorry i'm just worried."
"About your Mom or Romeo?"
"Both, I just don't know how i'm telling Romeo what's happening with Mother."
"It's ok you can do it."
When he said that Romeo walked in the kitchen. I was chocked to see him awake this early.
"Layla I can't sleep without you, I keep having nightmares."
"Romeo..." I suddenly stopped talking, no words came out.
"Layla can I talk to you really quick?" I heard Tyreen say in my ear.
We walked out the kitchen leaving Romeo alone..
"What."
"You don't need to tell him, not until you're ready."
"Tyreen I need to tell him no matter if i'm ready or not, it's his Mom and he has the right to know."
"I understand and you're right, tell him. I have to go anyway. Hopefully I see you soon." He came close and kissed my forehead.
"Ok."
I went back to the kitchen, I thought of what he said, I felt I needed to tell him but the other half of me decided not to. I made him breakfast, as I looked at him his face changed in matter of seconds.
"Romeo you ok?"
"I want to see Mom."
"Mom is ok the doctors are going to call me when she feel's better." I lied.
"I hope she's ok. Dad told me she was going to heal."
I didn't know what to say. "Finish your breakfast so you can get ready."
Later that day...
I hear a knock on the door. "Come in."
"Rosa, what's going on?"
"I just came to give you these roses somebody left for you!"
"Ooh well then thank you!"
I never told Romeo about Mom, Tyreen was right. I should tell him when im ready. As I took the roses I saw a note.
"Layla you're going thru a lot and I want to give you these roses so you can at least smile."
I smiled and put them in water. When I decided to go to sleep later that day the phone rings...
"Hello."
"Im calling from the Hospital, it's Dr. Salvitore."
"Ooh is everything wrong."
"No im just calling because your Mom needs you and her brother to be with her. She needs support."
"Of course, im here to support her whenever, When can I go visit?"
"Your Mother keeps getting worst you and your brother can come in early in the morning tomorrow."
"Ok we'll be there."
As I hanged up the phone I had to tell Romeo. He would've found out in the hospital. I went to the garden to look for Romeo.
"Romeo!" I yelled as loud as I could.
"Yea im right here."
"Romeo I have to tell you something about Mother." I was scared to tell him.
"What happened with Mom?"
"The Doctor called he wants us to go to the hospital tomorrow morning. Romeo Mother is really sick and she needs us now more than ever."
"Layla what does Mother have?"
"Uhh Mother... has Cancer."
He looked at me in total chocked. His eyes watered so quickly. All that I could have done was hug him, I started to cry with him.
"What... But... I Thought... MOM HAS CANCER. That's why she was always sick."
"Yeah, we will see her tomorrow morning don't worry if you want you can stay with her. I don't want you to think anything horrible that can happen to Mother, she will be fine. She's strong."
I brought him to the room and put him to bed. I hope that she will be ok. Stay strong Mother, please Stay Strong.
