I got the job a couple days later. I prayed to God and told him Thank You for the opportunity he gave my family and me, then I told my dad I was going to fufill the promise. I will do whatever it takes to have a good future for my family and I.
The first day came I was nervous I don't know what I should expect, it was actually my first job. Leaving my family for hours hurts me, but I keep remembering the promise I made Daddy!
As I stepted in the gates of the Stuart family I noticed all the rooms it had. I looked at myself and noticed my shoes were broken, my pants were full of dirt and with holes every were, my shirt was no longer a shirt, but I looked at my finger and saw the ring Dad game me for my eight teen birthday!
I told myself I would buy clothe to my family when I get my first paycheck. Looking to make sure I was in the right house I saw a women she looked at me with a smile on her face.
She comes up to me and says, "You must be Layla!"
I replied, "Yeah nice to meet you."
I was thinking how can she not feel disgusted by the way I looked.
She tells me to come in, as I followed her in she tells me not to worry, she had a room and clothe all ready for me. I was confused, I then asked, "Will I be staying in the house?" She looks at me and laughs, "Of course you are hunny!"
I reminded her I had a younger brother and a Mother that needed me. She says she will take care of them. I was surprised how a random women can be so kind to a young girl she just met. She started talking about the family and that she has a sixteen year old girl, and a nineteen year old boy.
I thought it will be nice to meet them, but she then bursts out to be careful for the Elixah, she says she's more full of herself. It reminded me of me when I was sixteen and had everything. Then she tells me about Tyreen, and how he is the smartest young boy she knows, and that reminded me of my little brother Romeo.
She showed me the rest of the house, it was like a palace! I saw the room I was staying and said to myself, " I can live here with my Brother and Mother."
I kept thinking a lot and noticed my new boss was keeping something from me.
