I walked into the principal's office with David close at my heels. I wanted to turn around and tell him to back off but I had a feeling that it would get me into more trouble than I already was in. I sat in one of the two chairs in front of our middle aged, chubby principal Mr. Phelps desk, and moved my chair as far away from David as i could.

I looked around in the room, and saw our school colors, dark green and purple on everything. The walls, the chairs, even the pencil on the desk had the awful colors on it. Honestly, who would even think of putting dark green and purple together? The person who decided our school colors was seriously disturbed.

I looked around the room and took it all in.

I've never actually been in here before. I was the good girl. The girl, who didn't get into trouble, smoke and got wasted every Friday night. Even though I didn't do all those things, I was still popular among both girls and certainly boys too. I was always invited to the cool parties, but I always made up some lame excuse and stayed home. Not that I didn't want to party, I just didn't get drunk the way everyone else did. And I hated being around drunk people when I was the only one sober. I would rather remember my weekend than wasting it with beers and shots.

"What was it this time? Mr. Westler you go first." Mr. Phelps asked. Oh here we go.. Another one of his made up stories..

"I just went over to make a friendly conversation to her boyfriend Lee Willis and she started yelling at me! It was not my fault!"

"That is not what happened and you know it Westler!" I spat his name like it was the most disgusting word I've ever heard. Which it was.

"AND HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" I yelled at him. Why he would keep calling Lee my boyfriend I would never understand. Yes we spent a lot of time together but we were best friends and there was nothing romantic in the air between me and Lee. Nothing.

"Sure, sure if you say so" he said to me. His voice was almost dripping with sarcasm. I knew he didn't believe me. But honestly I didn't really care.

"Then Miss Davis if you think Mr. Westler is not telling the truth, then what did happen?" Mr. Phelps finally turned his attention to me. And this time his attention wouldn't be returned with a lie. "Me and Lee, who is NOT my boyfriend I might add, were talking and then he came over, and called Lee a pathetic loser and pointed out the fact that Lee isn't invited to a party this weekend, but i stepped in and defended Lee. Me and Westler started arguing, well yelling, at each other. Then you came and stopped us." I looked at David with a smirk on my face. I knew the principal would believe my story rather than his. And he knew it too.

"Okay Miss Davis I believe you. But I have to say that I really don't know what I am going to do about you two," he lent back into his chair and rubbed his ugly, balled head. "you have been arguing more and more and I wouldn't be surprised if next time it ended up in a fight.."

"I don't hit girls" David cut him off.

Mr. Phelps gave him a glare for cutting in, and continued. "and before it does end up in a fight I will try and fix it." he lent closer to us, gave us a sly smirk and said the words i most definitely did not wanted to hear.

"I am changing the pairs for the history assignment and you two are to work together for a whole month on this project"

Then he lent back, looking pretty pleased with himself.
