Goodbye

Lucy's POV

Natsu was crying and sobbing on Igneel's corpse. Erza was saluting him while crying. I was crying behind my hands. I run up to Natsu and hug him from behind. He twitches but turns around and hugs me back. I pet his hair back as he sobs into my neck. We hug each other tightly. I glance back at Erza. "Take the troops home. I'll handle this" she nods. "Ok. I need to make some arrangements. I'll have you announce the news later" I nod as she walks away.

Five hours later....

I take a deep breath and walk on the public stage. I was wearing my usual blue dress with yellow gems. The fairies and dragons were all gathered. Everyone else went home. I clear my throat, making everyone be quiet. "Friends, family. I have come hear today to announce something sad. King Igneel is dead." I close my eyes as everyone gasps or tears up. "We will not mourn his death. That is not what he would want. Queen Titania and king Igneel decided before the battle that the kingdom of dragons and the kingdom of fairies would unite into one. It will called Fairy Tail!" "Can't Prince Natsu be king?!" I hear a bunch of cheers, calling for Natsu. I wince. "King Igneel respected Prince Natsu's wish to not rule or be king! There is no more kings or queens anymore! We will have a council of twenty. Ten of our strongest and ten of our wisest!"

I walk home after the hour long speech and questions. Natsu stayed at my house. I sigh and open my front door. I blink as I see the lights off. "Natsu?" No response. I turn on the lights and look around. I look on my desk and see a letter. I read it. I widen my eyes and collapse on my knees and start crying. "Dear Lucy, I'm sorry but I'm leaving. Igneel fought my battle because I'm to weak. Watch everyone for me. See ya! Love Natsu" I sob into my hands. Why did I fall in love with an idiot?
