Sehun: ~Begin Again~: •Part 2•

Sehun's POV:

-that night, after practice-

"Sehunnie, how have your practices gone along?"

*sluuuurrrrp*

I looked up from my hands for a second, up to Luhan.
We were eating at a nice sit-down diner, Malg-eun Wanbyeog,  just down the street from our rehearsal building.
Memories flooded back to me all at once of what good times all of us used to have after rehearsals, in this very room.
I exhale deeply and look into Luhan's eyes, relaxed and patient.

"It's alright, I guess. The new routines are interesting to learn. How about you, Lu?"
I asked hesitantly, knowing he would tell me a long, exasperated story.

Instead, he looked at me in a way I'd never seen before. Was it.. regretful? Dismay..? I squint my eyes and move my head towards him, tilting a bit.
I poked his hand, which still had chopsticks in it. Lu was in mid-slurp of his noodle dish.

"I..."
He stifled a smile, turning back to his old self.

"I guess I just miss hanging out with everyone... They're all so busy... It's not the same."
He said, sadly.

"Aw, Lu-"
I started, to be interrupted by one of his long tangents again.

"I mean, Sehunnie! Look at Chanyeol, getting all of those acting gigs... D.O. and Baekhyun are BOUND to get more music opportunities with their outstanding voices, and-"

I cut him off in my mind to concentrate.
I guess it's true, we have been more separated from the group than we should be. But SM had us extremely busy, learning the routines for the new album. We didn't have any time to ourselves anymore.

"-and Suho, he's our LEADER, and he still has better things to do!"
He finished, flashing a pouty lip.

I smiled slowly and reached to ruffle his hair, now a shade of light chestnut tan.

"I'm sure SM will get us back in the industry in no time, Lu. Don't worry. Then we'll have some time to ourselves."

I forced a smile, but couldn't help second guessing what I had just said. SM Entertainment... I have mixed feelings sometimes.

"Well, yeah.. With what they're planning to do with you and Kai, it'll surely turn it-"

My heart skipped a beat as I heard Kai and I's names mentioned together.
He paused, wide-eyed.

"Uhm..."
He looked at me, smiled, then began eating again rapidly.

"Lu-"
*slurp*
"Lu."
*slurrrrp*
"Luhan!"
*ssllllurrrrp*
"LUHAN"

I reached for his chopsticks, grabbed them out of his hand, and placed them harshly onto the table.
I looked up at his surprised expression, a clump of noodles still hanging from his mouth.
I sighed, feeling the color of my cheeks return rapidly.

"What are they planning to do with Kai? Well, especially me."
I asked, tapping my fingers on the table impatiently.

"I dfun kmnow..."
He chewed his noodles quickly, his speech slurred as he talked.

"Kfai? Wherf you get that idef?"
He looked at me with a confused expression.

*gulp.*

"You know what I'm talking about, Lu, just.. Please tell me. I won't mention it to the others."

"Promise? I wasn't going to tell you, it was a surprise-" He asked, tapping his index fingers together nervously.

"Hey, I promise.." I gave him a weak smile.

He pushed his bowl to the edge of the table and sighed, crossing his arms.

"I wasn't even supposed to know... So, don't blame me.. I just, I went to get food from the break room, y'know... Today, during dance rehearsal."

He paused to look up at me.
I nodded.

"I dropped one of my eggrolls... I was really disappointed because two came in the package."
He sighed.

"Get to the point, Lu."

"R-right. So I saw Kai in the break room, he was practicing a dance.. A dance I've never seen anything of, it's nothing we have learned in the new album. No music was playing, so I'm not sure what it's for.. but.. um.. The surprising thing was, Jaewon was there monitoring it all..."

Jaewon... Our head dance coach... Why would he know about this, but we all don't? More importantly, why would Kai keep this from me.. from all of us?
I shook my head.

"It must all be a big misunderstanding. Jaewon must be telling us tomorrow, at practice. Watch. He wouldn't not tell me if I'm to be involved.

Luhan looked at me with disappointed eyes, and shook his head.

"Sehun, it was not ..normal. I don't think he's going to tell us-"
I cut him off by standing up, and taking his bowl.

"Are you finished?" I asked him.

He just nodded and stood up as well.
I handed the dishes off to the waiter, thinking about what Lu had said.
I don't like to think this, but.. What if SM IS keeping this from me? I'm definitely not the most talented in the group, in my own opinion. I thought Kai would've at least told me.
I followed Luhan out of Malg-eun Wanbyeog's doors, into the cool summer night.
It feels like change is coming..
I thought to myself, Lu's silhouette following closely behind the darkly lit sidewalk.
