Reborn in Blood: Chapter Five
A tingling encompassed her entire body. The good side was that she was still alive, and not dead yet. She moved her arms—freedom. Stretching, she opened her eyes and let out a shriek, she was covered in spiders that crawled freely about her skin. Leaping to her feet, she thrashed wildly, tearing at her flesh to get them off. Running to what appeared to be a door, she pushed hard against the door and it flew open sending her sprawling out into a downpour.
Picking herself up from the mud, she anxiously wiped away the last of the spiders before taking in the full extent as to where she was. To her left, the house she had been in earlier, to her right, and for God knows how far, corn, then behind her was the barn from which she had just emerged. She needed no prompting to know that it was time to run; slipping on the mud she made her way back to the cornfield where she had watched helplessly as her sister was… she could not finish the thought.
As she ran, the sky opened up releasing a single bolt of lightening splintering a tree to her left, and send the remaining timber crashing down effectively barring her exit. She turned—they were already upon her. The hooded ones, being led by the man, ran towards her moving effortlessly through the rain. She looked up to the sky, then fell to her knees burying her head in her hands; Is this to be my fate?
Looking up again she watched as the sky above her opened, and realization dawned on her what was about to happen. Shutting her eyes tight she felt heat and electricity tear through her body; her muscles locked, her blood boiled—and then peace.
