It disappointed me to see all my brothers and sisters get up the next morning as if nothing had happened. Didn't they care that we could have lost a sibling?

We don't talk about it though, nor are any of us allowed to see Hadley before school. That had really made me mad. She was my sister and she was in pain. I had to be there for her. But my mother still said no, so unwillingly I'm being shoved out the door and dragged to school.

"You okay, Luke?" Michael asks, noticing right away there was something wrong. I wanted to tell him about my father, but I couldn't. Instead I tell only partly the truth.

"My sister got hurt yesterday, but it's fine," I tell him, but I try changing the subject right away, "So what's up?"

"Umm... Nothing really," he responds after a moment, confused at the sudden change. He continues when I don't say anything back, "I was wondering, after school, would you want to hang with me and another buddy at the bleachers? I swear it's not a date, and it can be fast if you want."

I pondered the idea. I really did want to go, excited at the thought of being with Michael even if it was with an extra friend, but I knew that if my dad caught me if be dead. Strangely enough, I didn't care about the last part, "Yeah, sounds fun."

If my dad seen me then let him. I couldn't be more scared of him than now, but Michael was growing a special place in my heart. Even if my dad hurt me, it wasn't like anybody was gunna care except for Michael. I just didn't give a fuck anymore, and I was feeling rebellious.

"Oh wow! Great," and with that we separate to our classes.

It's no time before school is ending, and I'm heading to the bleachers. I immediately catch the odd color haired boy, and race up to meet him.

"Hey, where's your friend?" I ask, looking around for the friend Michael had said was coming. I watch as the pale boy bites his lip.

"Alex canceled at the last moment, so I guess it's just you and me," he tells me, giving me a small smile.

"That's just as good," I chuckle, leaning back on my hands.

"Glad you think so," he winks causing me to blush. I turn away immediately, only to have him push my head toward him, "Come on, you look cute when you blush."

I giggle softly, not bothering to move Michael's cold fingers from my face as he strokes my cheek. It was cold from the December weather, causing both our cheeks to redden from the cold.

I watch as Michael's green eyes light up as he looks fondly into my own blue orbs. I don't notice it at first, but we start to slowly lean in together to the point are lips are barely touching.

"Can I kiss you?" Michael's horse breath, says against my lips, tickling them slightly. I nod, letting my eyes drift close as our lips press together.

It was our second time kissing, but it was soft just like a first kiss would be. I tilt my head sideways allowing it to deepen further. My lips were tingling already, and I would have been smiling if Michael's wouldn't have been occupying ever inch with his full, cherry red ones.

My eyes open slightly as I feel his tongue swipe nervously against mine, asking for entrance. Gladly I accept, briefly opening enough to let his touch slip into my lips.

Our tongues battle for dominance, but I was no match to Michael as he caught me off guard by squeezing my bum softly in a teasing manner. We both giggle in response, and instinctively, my arms wrap around his neck pulling him even deeper, and I had no plans of letting him go. Well that was until I hear a familiar, angry voice scream out my name.

I pull off with an annoyed and surprised grunt as I look towards where the voice came from to see a fuming Calum. He was climbing up the bleachers with a stomp in every step till he reaches us, pointing an angry finger in my face.

"Do you know how lucky you are that I found you before anyone else? Huh?" He practically screams, his tan skin turning red from anger. His finger than snaps to Michael who looks confused and surprised as well, "And you, you little fucker, keep your hands off of my baby brother. Understand?!"

Neither of us are able to answer before Calum is grabbing my wrist and dragging me behind him. I give the pale boy an apologetic look, blowing him a kiss before he's out of view.

"Way to go, you cock block," I snap angrily. Next think I know is we stop and I'm feeling a slight sting in my cheek. I cup my face connecting together what had just happened. Calum slapped me.

"Look. I'm doing this for your protection. You seen was dad do to Hadley and all she did was burn some food. What you are doing is illegal in this family, and I'm saving you from possible death. I love you Luke, I can't loose you," he tells me, his voice dropping in sadness for the last part. He bends down, placing a soft kiss to the cheek he had hit, "Sorry for hitting you. That was uncalled for."

I only nod in response, unable to form any words. We keep walking in silence for the remainder of the walk. I stop my older brother before he walks in, asking him in a hushed voice, "Are you going to tell?"

"Not a soul," he winks, leaning down slightly to press his nose onto mine on an Eskimo kiss. Long ago as kids, that was Calum and I's thing, and I guess it still was.

We walk in to find the house remotely empty except for my mother cooking at the table and Brook on the floor playing with an old doll that had been passed down for many years.

I haven't talked to my mom since the argument from last night. I was still disappointed, but I still loved her nevertheless. She was my mom after all.

Calum and I head straight to our room where he starts doing homework while I stare blankly at the mirror. My lips were slightly swollen but could easily be blamed on the cold weather, and a slight bruise was forming on my cheek but I'd only blame it on clumsiness.

I couldn't help but think back to how good Michael made me feel. With him, I felt loved for the first time, and I really liked it. I craved it too, inside. I was excited to talk to the boy tomorrow, but I knew I'd have to be more carful if I wanted this to continue.

It had hurt to see Calum so disappointed, but it hurts even more at the thought of not being with Michael anymore. I was stuck between them both, but I refused to choose. I'd keep everything a secret for as long as I can, and hopefully it'd turn out okay.
