EPISODE 1 - PILOT
NOWHERE SO FAR

Ext. - Earth-like Alien Planet - Day
FX - Sweeping in over open country, grassland. Speeding up over a forest then over a lake at the foot of a mountain. Slowing down, now, moving up the mountain, focusing on a large ledge, where a young man stands in front of a cave entrance. He's about thirty, thin, average height, short red hair and bright intelligent eyes.
Close up of the man's eyes, then he turns away and walks towards the cave.
FEMALE VOICE (off camera):
You've been a difficult man to find, TURLOUGH.
TURLOUGH stops and cocks his head to the side.
TURLOUGH:
That was the intent, VILA.
It wouldn't be much of a hiding place if I could be found easily, would it?
VILA, young, short, long black hair in a pony-tail, cocky, walks into shot and TURLOUGH turns to face her.
VILA:
I found you.
TURLOUGH:
You can be very determined when you want to be.
Why are you here, exactly?
VILA steps closer, TURLOUGH eyeing her suspiciously.
VILA:
Oh, TURLOUGH. You know why.
You've known before you even left Trion, so suddenly.
Why was that? Why leave when you were doing so well?
TURLOUGH:
You wouldn't understand ...
(whispers) You couldn't possibly ...
He turns away, ashamed.
TURLOUGH (cont):
I once made a deal. A deal to kill the best man I ever knew and now ...
Now, my past is catching up with me.
VILA steps closer and puts a hand on his arm. TURLOUGH looks down at the hand. It has a transmat band on it.
He looks up - terrified!
VILA:
Just like I did.
She grins as her other hand sweeps up and hits the transmat band's button.
TURLOUGH:
NO! You don't know what you're doi...
FX - They both vanish in a contained explosion of energy.
Tracking shot, backwards, away from the ledge. Back. Back. Showing the cold, empty and now lifeless mountain.
TITLES
Int. - Spaceship - Transmat bay.
The transmat bay is dark, shadowy, cluttered with boxes and various old machine parts. It's very submarine like. Low ceilings, manual sealing bulkhead doors at either end. One console, utilitarian.
A button flashes on the console.
FX - A flash of explosive energy and TURLOUGH and VILA appear on the transmat dais.
