Kayla's POV
Why is this happening to me.
I don't deserve any of this.
It's not fair
I know what I did was wrong but....
There was no but's it was over
My life
3 hours earlier....
Finally it's lunch time
After all the homework I got
I definitely needed a lunch break.
Meeting Anna in the lunch line we proceed to buy ourselves the daily special

Mac and cheese
We finish getting our food and look for an empty table.
Across the room an empty table sits there
"There's one," I say pointing to the table.
"Let's go," Anna says glumly.
We walk over an sit down.
We sit there in silence
Which never happens with my overly excited BFF
"What's wrong?" I say staring at her sad look.
"I don't want to talk about it," Anna says flatly.
"I'm your best friend, you can tell me anything," I say touching her cold shoulder.

Just then the cafeteria doors burst open and in comes a police officer followed by
Brenden
I stand there still as a mouse.
"Over there," Brendan says pointing my way.
I point a finger to myself
"M-m-me?" I say my voice shaky.
"Don't pretend you don't know," Brendan says with a sly grin
Now everyone is staring a me
Lunch trays in their hands and mouths wide open.
A police officer rushes over to me taking out handcuffs.
"What are you..." I say but can't finish.
"Sshhh, Kayla don't worry, you'll get out in maybe a few years," Brendan says still smiling.
"What's happening?" I say looking at Anna's shocked expression.
"Your under arrest for murdering your own father!" The police officer says.
I stand there not saying a word.
"How did you know about this?" I ask the man as he brings me closer to Brenden.
"This young man had told me," says the officer.
"How did you know?" I ask Brenden as he stands there smiling.
"I saw you, everything!" He says eying me up and down.
"I didn't rat you out when I saw you but when you come storming into my house and told me to not help you, I lost it!" He says
"Take her away!" Brenden demands.
I take one more look at Anna and then I'm gone
Walking in the hallway
We turn a corner that leads to the main entrance and I see some of my teachers glaring at me.
I knew this day would come
I just didn't want it to be today😓
Brenden's POV
Why did I do that, I thought I liked her but I couldn't let a murderer be on the loose.
The only thing that I didn't know was if Kayla killing her father was on purpose or an accident.
I don't know why I was smiling and laughing
It was serious
I guess I wanted friends to turn on her
But thinking about it now
That's not what I want
"Maybe you get out in a few years!" I think

I should have said that I was sorry but I couldn't live with myself knowing that my neighbour could kill me any moment
But I didn't
It was to late
As the police officer leads Kayla out to the hallway I'm left there facing the entire school,
And Anna
"N-n-no... KAYLA COME BACK TO ME!!!!" Anna screams crying.
"She's gone Anna, time for you to move on," I say grinning
Stop it Brenden, stop being the meanest person in the world right now
But I couldn't stop
For some reason I was enjoying her pain
Maybe because I didn't feel guilty
I was doing the right thing
Right?
"How could you say that?" Anna says calming down a little.
"Do you really want a murderer running around our school?" I say firm.
"I mean she could have killed any one of you at any minute! Especially you Anna!" I say turning to face the students which were standing there watching me and Anna bicker.
"She's my best friend, and you took her away from me," Anna says storming out of the cafeteria.
"Oh no, go cry to your mother!" I say fake pouting.
