Lily

I looked up into the greenest eyes I had ever seen. I heard someone gasp; it took me a few seconds to realize that it had been me exhibiting such surprise. The man before me was gorgeous; I could hardly pull my eyes away from his face. It seemed as if we had been staring into each other's eyes for hours, when in reality it probably wasn't even a full minute. His smile spread across his face, and I felt myself smiling in response.

"I'm Andy," he said in one of the smoothest voices I had ever heard.

I smiled and took the hand he proffered, "I'm Lily."

For some reason I felt completely comfortable around him. Based on his looks alone, he could probably have any girl he wanted. While that should have been causing me alarm and raising many red flags, instead it flattered me that he would pay even the slightest attention to me. While I could blame my wanton thoughts on the contents of the red cup in my hand, I knew that it wouldn't be true. Whatever was happening to me was solely my body's reaction to this gorgeous being in front of me. Andy. I liked the sound of his name.

He led me through the throngs of people grinding and talking, to the other side of the party. "Paul!" he shouted across the loud bass of whatever song was currently playing. A familiar senior looked up when Andy called him; I tried to think of where I had met him, as I knew that I had already met him. I just couldn't think of where. The alcohol, combined with the strange reactions my body was having to Andy, prevented me from thinking very clearly.

"Paul, I would like to introduce you to this beautiful young lady; this is Lily. And Lil, this is my best friend Paul," Andy said, a smile beaming from his face as he glanced over at me. I smiled a bit sheepishly, unsure of why Andy was so happy to see me. Don't get me wrong. I loved the attention he was paying me. I just didn't understand it.

"Well Lily, it is so nice to finally meet you. I'm so glad you've managed to tame this one," Paul winked at me as he spoke. I smiled in response, still a little unsure of how quickly everything was moving.

"Uh, yeah, nice to meet you too," I said. I wasn't sure why Paul was acting as if Andy had done nothing but talk about me for days leading up to this meeting, when in actuality we had just met five minutes ago.

Five minutes later, I found myself sitting next to Andy at the bar, answering his seemingly endless questions. He now knew that my favorite color was blue, that I absolutely loved to ski, and a million other seemingly pointless pieces of information about myself.

While I had originally written him off as nothing more than a player, Andy seemed legitimately interested in getting to know me. He had not once made a move on me, though he seemed unable to keep his hands off of me - not that I minded, of course.

I felt my phone vibrate, but chose to ignore it. "Your phone's ringing," Andy said in a suddenly strained voice. I looked up at him, completely confused at his sudden change in attitude. He glared at my phone, as if he could destroy it with his eyes. I saw Todd's name flashing across the screen and sighed, wishing that the glare in Andy's eyes could be out of jealousy. But no, he had just met me. I answered the phone.

"Lily?" I heard Todd shout through the phone, "Where are you? I'm at the party! I'm over by my senior friend Paul, you remember him, right?"

I tried to think back to meeting his friend Paul. I glanced over at Andy. It couldn't be the same guy, could it? I mentally shrugged. It wasn't important right now. "I'm over by the bar," I told Todd, letting him come to me. I wasn't going to leave Andy for Todd when it actually seemed like Andy might like me.

"Next question!" Andy announced the second I hung up the phone. He still wore an angry expression on his face, so I wasn't sure that I would like the direction of the next question. "Okay," I said, a bit unsure of what changed his mind about me.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" he asked, the look in his eyes hardening.

"No," I said, a bit insecurely. Of course he had a girlfriend. What was I even thinking, letting myself like him this quickly. This is exactly why I don't chase after guys. I always end up disappointed because I'm not pretty enough.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" he quickly followed up his other question.

"No," I brushed off his question angrily, knowing that he wouldn't be interested in me now that he knew just how inexperienced I was.

He suddenly grinned widely. "Me neither," he said happily. "So, no boyfriend? No commitments to anyone else right now?" he asked.

Unsure of what he planned next, I said, "No, none of the above."

My answer pleased him. He smiled so brightly I felt my stomach flutter a bit. He leaned in close and whispered against my cheek, "Well, would you consider being my girl friend? I've never had a girl friend before, and I think we could help each other out..." he trailed off, still extremely close to me.

I smiled up at him. I had never been spontaneous in my entire life, but maybe this was my chance. "You know what? Normally I would never do this, but yes. I'm going to say yes to your entire wacky idea. Let's date," I said. Before I could even suggest where we go for our first date, he was kissing me. With very little experience kissing, I was worried that I would disappoint him. I should have known that the connection I felt with Andy would be so much more if we were this close. I felt sparks erupt all over my body. I loved the feeling of his hands in my hair and on my back. I tugged his hair and felt him, rather than heard him, moan into my mouth.

He pulled away, smiling so brightly at me. I smiled back at him, knowing that he had the power to make me happier than I had ever been before in my life. "You have no idea how happy I am that I have found you," he whispered, stroking the side of my face. I'm not sure at what point during the kiss that I had gotten so close to him, but I now found myself in Andy's lap, my arms around his neck. He had one hand balancing me on my waist, the other roaming from my hair to the side of my face.

I suddenly felt Andy tighten his grip on my waist, glaring at something over my shoulder. I looked up at him curiously; when he didn't seem to acknowledge my unspoken question, I turned slightly, only to wish that I hadn't.

Behind us, glaring with anger and disbelief, was my best friend Todd.

"Lily?" Todd asked, "What are you doing?"
