Recap:

Suddenly feeling very tired, I excused myself and decided to walk through the garden, as a bit of fresh air would do me good.

Tristan's POV:

As I watched her walk away, I began to think. I had expected her to be a distant cousin to the royal family, or maybe even an illegitimate daughter not the Kings youngest child. It seemed this would be an interesting assignment after all.

"Tristan, are you listening?" Zrahal asked me, looking a bit concerned. We were just talking about the trip tomorrow.

My mind was occupied now that she'd left, so I really couldn't care less about the conversation. "I'm sure you have it all under control, so if you don't mind, I think I'll retire for the night," I answered.

As I walked through the halls in search of my room, I spotted the seams of a green dress before it vanished behind a corner.

I smiled. It seemed like every time I got lost, she showed up. Maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after all.
I followed her.

The chase led me out to a green garden, were lanterns glowed dimly. She was about twenty meters in front of me. But nobody had yet escaped me when I wanted to get ahold of them, and it wasnt going to be different now. I quickly grasped her hand and turned her around, so she was trapped in my arms.

Looking into her surprised blue eyes, and I couldn't help but smirk.

"What do you want?" Isobel hissed while trying to get free, clearly not putting up that much of a fight. What can I say?the ladies just love me.

I let go and answered. "I just wanted to make sure that you hadn't told anyone about our little meeting earlier today. And I also wanted to give you a goodnight kiss." I gave her a roguish smile.

She looked at me with crossed arms. "Shouldn't I be the one that makes sure you don't talk? And nice try, but there is no way that I'd let you kiss me. Last time you caught me by surprise, and it wont happen again. I am engaged!"

I couldn't help but smirk. If I wanted a kiss, I could take it, but it just wasn't my thing to go around kissing unwilling girls. If I had known that she was engaged to my brother, I probably wouldn't have kissed her the first time either.

"Fair enough. Just make sure to show up tomorrow, and I won't talk. Can you point me to the guest rooms? This place is a freaking labyrinth. "

Okay, so maybe my inner compass wasn't that good. It had taken me an hour to find the palace, and I had to ask for directions about ten times.

Isobel's face softened and she pointed in the direction I came from.

"Walk about a hundred meters that way and turn left, and then take the staircase to the fourth floor. Your rooms should be somewhere on the right. "

I had to make sure that she didn't tell anyone, or Zrahal would never let me hear the end of it.
"Thank you. But remember, if you ever tell anyone about today, I may accidentally let you secret slip"
I said in a warning tone.
"Goodnight, princess. I look forward to tomorrow." I kissed her hand and left.

Yes, this was definitely going to be an interesting assignment after all.
