Chapter 10
It feels like a normal day, Lara and I are waiting for Alec by our lockers, but it has been minutes and we're about to be late in our next class. We're so worried, I hope she's okay.
"Raina, we're going to be late."
"I know."
"I think she's never going to show up."
I knew she's right, but a part of me is hoping that she will. Two minutes passed, still no sign of her. We decided to head to our next class, which is English.
We saw the Miuccio brothers seated together. Vinny and Nick are laughing at some joke my fake boyfriend said, but Joey was awfully quiet. As I took my seat, I caught him stealing glances at where Alec is supposed to be seated. When he caught me staring at him, I gave him a small smile, but he looked away upset.
Nick saw that I was smiling at Joey, he mouthed, "Are you okay?" but I shook my head as a reply. I saw Nick whispering something to Vinny, making his twin nod. Nick took his bag and made his way to where I am seated.
He grabbed a chair and sat next to me. Normally I would yell at him and tell him to stay the fuck away from me. But right now, we are fake dating. None of our friends knew what was happening between us. We just told them that from all the bickering, we slowly developed a thing for each other.
Eck, I think I just puked in my throat at the thought of us liking each other in real life.
But that's not our problem right now. We have a problem with my best friend and my fake boyfriend's brother. They all think it was a problem because 1) they are having a baby 2) they are too young 3) they know nothing about children 4) they still want to graduate and do things they haven't done.
Lara took her stuff and sat next to Vinny. I wouldn't mind, I'm perfectly fine now that he's here, which is so unlike me. But hey, sometimes a girl just needs an annoying guy in her life.
Plus he's the brother of my best friend's boyfriend. We agreed to help them about their baby thing.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I couldn't look at him because I still feel sad about it. I sighed, "It's just that, I haven't seen Alec around."
He touched my hand; this made me look at him. "You still didn't answer my question." He retorted, with his voice is full of concern.
I slowly took my hand away from his and answered, "I'm fine. I'm just worried about her."
We were quiet for a brief second, until four words came out from his mouth, "I talked to him."
"Really?" he nodded, "What did he say?"
"He - "
"Alright, settle down!" Mr. Chen's voice suddenly boomed. It made us jumped. Not that I hate English, it's just that our teacher is a bit boring. Well here goes our boring class.
As soon as Mr. Chen started, I couldn't help but glance at Nick. He saw me then winked at me. I don't know why I looked at him though. I rolled my eyes at his arrogant reaction. Mr. Chen is strict and boring, so I'm trying to focus but his voice just makes me sleepy af.
Suddenly, I notice a piece of paper landed on my table; a piece of paper with Nick's handwriting on it.
Hey, babe. I can't help but notice how much you love to look at me. X
He's so conceited. I rolled my eyes and looked at him dully. He winked at me, and I started writing back his letter.
Why did I even agree to go on a date with such an arrogant guy? :P
